Is this to close?

Need some help from you guys. Will this melt my fan? Its about an 1 1/4".

I would say no. Before I put my turbo blanket on the exhaust housing was a half inch from the plastic disk(the plastic rod and disk used to hold fan against radiator) and it never had issues.

^same here. I have my turbo piping and turbine housing rather close to the puller fan and never had an issue. However mine is wrapped and blanketed. Keep an eye on it and if it's beginning to melt then see if you can wrap it or shield it off.

It'll be fine. I've had mine that close before...and when it will be the hottest is when you're really making power...so you'll have good airflow at that time.

Should be fine so long as the flex hose holds up - when they let go they tend to send small high velocity streams of exhaust outward which could damage the fan if it failed in that direction.
