Default log building question

Im about to place a order to buy weld ells for my twin setup.are short radius 1.5 in weld ells preferred or long radius? Still debating between stainless or mild . currently leaning towards mild due to the lesser likely hood of cracking and not owning a tig

Most all weld ell fabricated manifolds you see are made using long radius ells.

You can buy SS in SCH 10. The only ones I've seen in mild steel are SCH 40.

A Sch 40 manifold will be quite a bit heavier than SCH 10.

Either one would hold up just fine.

If your looking for manifolds to copy, they don't get any nicer than those!

I'm not 100% sure it will work with your car. Mine were built for my 3rd gen which doesnt have power steering. They actually go up and forward. The pipes were set at a 45 degree angle into the log. It comes a little close to the CTS on the drivers side head.

I bought 4 feet of 2" for the log and cut it in half. 2.25" v bands I bought from mandrel bending solutions. The Ebay ones broke after tightening the nut down once.

Thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully my turbonetics t3 t4 5862s show up in the next day or two.im hoping I can tuck them up high enough to avoid a scavenge pump but I don't think ive ever seen anyone do it.from the looks of it something like shawns should work, I plan to use a 2 in short radius just before the last port and intersect the last primary into it pointing strait down with the t3 flange right below.from the way I have it pictured in my head it should flow pretty good still and let me tuck the turbos up high.

Short or long will be purely down to how much space you have, not forgetting plug access.

if you have room for the longer radius, they're bound to flow just a little better.

I think either long or short will work.these are going to be for my 98 z28 so space is limited plus I have headstuds.main reasoning behind the short radius is it should help me get the turbos up a little higher.but thats good to know the long radius will flow better.
Thank you

Nice.they really do tuck nice and close to the motor. You guys think im over thinking it in regards to my choice of using mild over stainless for durability?
My biggest concern is cracking, I plan to drive the car on 1000 mile road trips every summer.last thing I need is a mani cracking far from home lol

Yep, over thinking it. There are plenty of cars out there running stainless for a few years without issue. Make sure you have bracing so the weight is off the piping. Flex joints help too.
