The venturis help evacuate the vent lines. More often than not there is positive pressure in the downpipe too.

Even with no cats? I would have never imagined the exhaust could have positive pressure. I've seen a lot of of evacuation systems but never with a venturis.

Oh yes there is positive pressure in all exhaust systems. Maybe not much in some systems but there always is. From the moment the exhaust passes by the valve it begins expanding this one reason a stepped exhaust pipe works so well on all engines.

The venturis can be purchased from Vibrant for this sole purpose. I also know it works just as well without them in less extreme cases.

The primary reason was so I can drop intake air temps below ambient yielding substantially more power on a hot Texas day.
