Default lq4 over lq9 with p-1sc ?

just wanting to know what people think. also what numbers they are making on the lq4 or lq9 procharged. i know lq4 is better for boost over lq9 because of lower compression. but if your only running a max psi of 8-10lbs (p-1sc). which both motors can withstand safely. Is there still and advantage with lq4? seems that lq9 would make more power at that boost level. and lets say they both have ls6 cams. which is what cam i would swap in. So share your numbers and knowledge !

the only difference is the lq9 is more prone to detonate so if your only running pump gas you will need to be easy with the timing.

What he's saying is that the higher compression will detonte quicker than the lower compression... Iron or Aluminum block will detontae just the same if your not careful. For the boost your looking to make the compression isn't as much as a factor as it would be at lets say 12#'s.

If the price is the same I would take the LQ9 (more power with 10:1 compression), and don't get greedy with the tune. You can also add meth injection to help keep it running safer.

oh well then yes i agree with that but like i said boost isnt that high so probably no detonation, for the most part lol. yes i like the higher 10:1 ratio better then 9.5:1 the lq4 has unless your really taking advantage of the low compression for boost but not in this case. kinda wanted to see what numbers people were getting around that boost for either engines

If you want it to live for a while I would keep her around 8#'s and run a little meth. That would be somewhere in the 550-600 HP and the 10:1 compression will make for a nice crisp throttle on the street. People have pushed these motors way past the 600 hp mark but they usually give up the ghost in some way.

yeah im looking for the 600hp mark ....hmm might have to look into meth and get some more info on that .... im sure 600hp shouldnt be hard achieve tho with good fuel and timing
