98 gt able to be supercharged ???

Talking 98 gt able to be supercharged ???

i was wondering if a 98 gt can have a sc plopped onto it with no major changes with the motor , let me know what u would have to do to supercharge a gt , if at all possible

eh, this being your first post... you registered on ls1tech this month to ask about mustangs?!

Anyways, yes--there is no reason you cant supercharge a 4.6L SOHC motor. Just dont be upset when it still gets beat by nearly stock LS1s

ya i hate mustangs but thx for trying to make me seem like a tard lol ... i was asking if u could super charge a 3800 series II inside a stock 98 gt grand prix ... thx cool guy

Oh, you registered on LS1tech to ask about grand prixs?

Okay... that's much better, I guess?

Why not start with a GTP if you want a supercharged V6?

And there is no reason you can't supercharge your current motor, just don't be upset when it gets beat by stock 4.6L SOHC mustangs.

considering the stock gt has 200hp and the stock gtp has 240hp its not worth it. He could go w/ a lot better supercharger and get a lot more out of the motor. definetly enough to beat a mustang gt.

Just my thoughts

If its a 2004 gtp it will have 260 hp but only run like a 15 second 1/4. So good luck beating a mustang gt w/ that.

My 2000 GTP turned a 14.7 bone stock. I changed out the pulley and went with a CAI and it made a real noticable difference. No times after.

I've beaten a couple newer Mustang GT's, only due to them shifting like crap. One was funny because he had his girl in the car.

I don't think they make an after market s/c for a GT. Too much stuff to change and upgrade to be cost effective.

i had a gtp and you dont want to supercharge the 38000 because it is different CR thent he gtp. they make a ported SC for the gtp. My gtp went 12.9 at 106 mph that was with heads and everything.

hey tiger , so like i thought it would be more effective to go for a gp gt and convert to a sc ??? and if so , what would i have to change to be able to get that supercharger on that motor of a stock 98 gp gt ??? thx

and come on u guys ... u guys are supposed to be ls1 enthusiasts , and not tell people that mustangs will beat them , as gm guys u should be trying to disgrace mustangs and the brand name ford , which is now made of about 80 percent foreign materials , from izusu , toyota , etc ... food for thought ... thx guys ... and if anyone knows what ill have to do to put a sc on my stock grand prix gt 3800 series v6 please share your thoughts and info

and another thing for z98 ... it would actually be better to upgrade a gt ... then to get a stock gtp ... if all u had to was put on the sc onto the gt then it will be more effective then a gtp .... gt = 200 hp ... gtp = 240 .... a good sc will bring another 100 hp to the motor , but also lose about 20 cuz the engine will work to pull that supercharger ... so a gt with sc = 280 hp ... while a gtp will = 240 hp ... but if u have to do major things to get a sc on a gt then the cost will be too great for the hp gain ... which was my original question in the beginning before we got into this ford and brand loyal crap ... so if anyone has any info please let me know

This is true. As for if you can put a charger on it and how much I dont know. However I know that most factory chargers are shitty. My last car was a 98 V6 Mustang. I paid much less for it than a cobra and then put a $2500 charger and a few more things on it and could beat a 98 and below cobra. Cost less too. The hp/lb ratio is a lot better also. Of course the hp/lb wont be an issue the the gt and gtp. But if theres an aftermarket charger for it it would be better.
