Default How much boost!

I am going to start planning for a d1sc procharger install. Because of limited funds i am not going to install forged pistons, or rods. I am thinking about installing a pair of 317 heads to lower the compression down to 9.1. How much boost will the stock pistons handle. I would really like to stay on 91 octane because of fuel availability in my area. I will also be installing a comp cam, 918 springs, and 7.4 chromemolly pushrods, 60lb injectors, racetronix intake fuel pump. Any advice on boost? Head gaskets?

I have similar setup 317 heads Brian tooley dual springs, ls9 head gaskets, arp head studs (even tho a lot of guys have had good luck with chineese studs)
Stock ls1 shortblock

BUT I'm running e85.

Last summer I was around 10psi making 622 to the wheels everything held up great!
Swapped pulleys and to fmic during winter now making 735 at 16psi

The stock shortblock will handle quite a bit with good tune and fuel!

I wouldn't push 93 without meth as hard... Do you have e85 in your area?

Dont get 60# injectors! Get the 80's the first time around. I bought 60's and they're way too small. You should also get at least a single 340lph fuel pump. My Racetronix pump was dropping alot of pressure. The Aeromotive Stealth 340 fixed that problem.

Everyone told me to run GM MLS head gaskets, ARP headstuds and you will be set. I would look into the Alky Control kit, especially if you're running 91 oct.

60's will work if you already have them. I should be around 700 HP with mine, possibly higher : ) My car traps 144 so it's doing OK. I didn't expect to make that much with a 5.25 pulley on the F1A.

How far do you plan to push this setup in the future ? You might want to consider spending a little extra and go with dual in tank pumps from the start... I have had my fuel tank out of my car 3 times and alot of money later I have a dual intank setup and haven't had any problems since.

Like everyone else said the 60# injectors will be fine if you already have them. Stud the heads with MLS gaskets. Get a meth injection kit. Keep the boost around 10#'s with a safe tune and the bottom end will live. I would also reomend replacing the intake manifold ( O rings ) gaskets when you pull it. I got away with reusing them N/A, but under boost was a problem.
