Default 68 Chevy II Build

Been doing a lot of research and absorbing what I can. I've never messed with EFI or turbos before so it's all new to me. So here is the car and it was running a high winding SBC 5k converter and 4.88s ran 10.7 @ 125 like clockwork but wasn't street able at all.

I was the same as you last year started researching and picked up an lq4 built it over the winter and have been driving and tuning for a month or so . love it. it is the best thing I ever did to my nova. drives like a new car and has power to spare. if you have any questions about ls efi nova conversions id be happy to help if I can.

good looking nova.

So I pulled the 383 and sold it to get the funds rolling. Picked up a 90k mile L33 for $850 and got underway.

Pulled the stock tank and sumped it with a setup from Jegs.

Then pulled the 12 bolt out and ditched the 4.88s for some 3.42s strange 33 spline spool and a TA rear support.

A big thanks to Jarrett (Stock48) for taking the time with me to get the right parts ordered.
Magic ISKY cam
Yank 3,400
S475 96mm T4 1.1 Housing
KB log manifold
Tooley dual spring kit/pushrods
Trunion upgrade
LS7 lifters
LS9 gaskets
ARP head studs
Holley pan
Car Shop Inc mounts ( Fit Perfect engine fell into place )
Griffin radiator and contour dual fans.

That's where in at for now, updates soon to follow.

Had to notch this drivers side manifold to clear the steering box.

Thanks man I'll definitely have a lot of questions coming once the fabrication and mechanicals are done. I'm ordering the Holley HP EFI once I get a little further along.

Got a couple more things done. Fit the radiator and welded some tabs on to mount the Contour fans. Came out pretty good.

Then put the 80lb Injectors in. I used 5/8 spacers with M6 1.00 pitch 30mm long for the stock rails. Also a cable throttle body from a 02 truck.

Hope to get the intercooler and piping fitted this weekend, will update then.

looks good so far, I know you have a 2in cowl on there, but would the truck intake fit under a stock hood? Also I didnt know anything about efi or wiring and that holley efi was a breeze to setup.

I actually have the stock hood that I'm going to put back on the car. The intake is well below the fenders, I'll take a measurement tonight and post it up.

Anyone else that's done a Nova, what should I get to do the throttle cable and pedal setup? The car has a mechanical throttle with linkage now so I don't know if the later ones used a cable pedal setup? Thanks in advance for any info.

* Also I have the throttle cable bracket that mounts on the intake from that 02 silverado, if that helps any with cable selection.

My 69 had a cable throttle. I think you can get a pedal assembly from the later nova or maybe a Camaro.

I broke down and bought the Lokar LS cable. They make quality stuff. I'm sure others can tell you what stick GM cable can be used.
