Twin Garrett's suitable for 403 ls2...
The 4088 and 4094 are big, although big in different ways to the BW's. So yes your TO4R would be a fair bit smaller, at least around the compressor cover area, although this may reduce any abilities slightly over a bigger unit. Not sure how turbine wheel would compare with the T04 ? I think the impeller on the 4088 is very similar in size to the 366.
The 4094 has a fairly bulky compressor cover, I think the 4088 is the same ?
Left to right. 4094R, S364FMW, S366

Left to right, S366, S364FMW, 4094R
Then if a 366 wont fit, neither will a 4088.
It will need to be a smaller framed unit like the T04, Precision, Turbonetics, Compt turbo etc
All of those can be built with a pretty large compressor but in a smaller 3"+2" compressor cover

They'll be able to build you a small frame unit with some modern impellers for quite sensible prices.
Or I think Turbonetics, Comp Turbo, Precision offer them all pretty much off the shelf anyway
Either way, with turbochargers there are no lack of options. There are literally thousands of options
Although those same concerns are why i went with the BW unit above. I'd prefer a genuine factory unit over something built elsewhere
I managed to squeeze a pair under my car just beside the bellhousing. Space was ridiculously tight...but I figured I'll go with the larger units, because once they are fitted, I know anything I might ever upsize to will also fit.
If I'd used a small frame unit, I'd always have been limited to that small frame so figured it was worth making the effort from the outset.
It's just whether you want to take that gamble.
IMO find the room for some BW's. They're great value, and have a super reputation. Or speak to AGP Turbo, they offer different covers and turbine housings which makes some of the BW units more compact. Although I think it's mostly the smaller S200 range
