best 50 bucks i ever spent.
picked up a 2005 lq4 for $ 50.00 runs perfect but has low oil pressure so I will rebuild it of corse . but it is nice knowing where it came from and I did the remove and install in the van and just bought it for scrap value.
I think im going to do a different hot side on this one that crosses under the car. and leaves room for a s400 turbo .

the deal is I work for a school as a bus tech . this is the second one I have bought . they get started and idle in the winter both these engines have had the oil pump bypass stick open and they idle with little to no oil pressure as know one is in the bus yet. by the time anyone sees the check gauges light the damage is done and they need bearings. . so I pull the good engines out of my rusty 2003 trucks and install it in the 2005 truck and they are scraping the old bus so they let me buy the engine for the going scrap price. cant beat it.
the funny thing is both of these engines did the same thing at around 175.000 miles and they are sister engines the bus' were one vin number apart. they must have had oil pump issues in 2005 all my 2003 run great at 200.000 plus.

Nice find. It took me 3 tries and about $1400 total(including shipping) before I found one that was even usable. After the second one I bought a Dart block and went ahead with a build. Got a call from a junkyard I had left my phone # with and went down and picked up #3 just to see if I could even find a used one that wasn't broken. It looked great inside and out, pretty much just needed rings and a hone. I spent about $20 on LPS spray and wrapped all the parts up in case I have a use for it down the road. At $50 a piece, It would take quite a few tries before I'd give up. Around here it takes at least $400 to get a pig in a sack.

the last one is in my nova and it was worse than this one it needed the crank turned and all new bearings , I checked the ring gap cleaned everything ,did a valve job , went with a comp 206/212 cam and double springs and an oil pump. runs like a champ. I hope the next one is the same.
