Nice car.....I like it.

Theres nothing better than a larger car than your typical 2-door little sports car with two seats....with a TON of power. Just too bad it is so big, high off the ground and heavy......it'll just never be an all-around great performer.

I think 2008 was the first bastard year of the challenger which only came in automatic and didn't have posi iirc. Came in like 3 colors, SRT8 trim only. So, they added the option 5 model years ago, which was like 6 years ago lol

My arm resting on the door was parallel to the ground...wtf. Tiny little windows. I understand the requirement to make cars that meet safety and emission standards but damn 4k+? I was at an auto-x event and there was a 2010 challenger and two 2012's all had 450-600whp and their times were almost the slowest if the day. All had full suspension too. They were being beat by Honda Fits. Stock Honda Fits. It was her first time there too. (the fit driver). Disgraceful. Put that "hellcat" motor in something sub 3500lb and a stick and watch out.

Bingo

I was referring to the Hellcat not the other Challenger models.

My dad has a 2010 challenger, and it's nice, but just too big and heavy for me. Granted, it's a nice cruiser since it 'floats' where as my car feels more planted and solid, but then again, he's a good 400+ lbs heavier than I am, and it sits quite a bit higher than my car.

It's sad that the only sub 3600lb v8 is the corvette, maybe a stripped mustang, not sure, at least domestically.

I really hope the new generation of camaros gets slightly smaller and sub 4000lbs.

Rumor is the car went 10.90s in testing, but no specifics on what tire, how stock it was, etc.
Your diablosport tune makes a good difference in how these Mopar vehicle run.

I feel like they just wanted to build the car for a hp number and not to perform. The videos did it no justice for me, and though it looked slow. If it did go 10.90 that's fast but not by today's standard for a 700hp car. A c7z will go that fast with a good tire and a few bolt ons.

A c7z is in a totally different league. Quit comparing a challenger to a vette !

its like comparing the Viper against the cts-v

I said it once and I will say it again when all the big three companies came out with their versions of the throwbacks, I thoroughly liked the look of the challenger way better than the mustang or the camaro. This one just takes the cake IMO besides the weight. All of them seem to be heavy *** cars but if I had 60K or whatever it would take to get either one of the big three muscle cars, It would be this one.

And like everyone else pretty much said, this is just a win for all of us with the HP wars.....just the fact they cost so much $$ kills it for MOST of us, lol.

Srry I meant a c6z, but even still I was talking about hp to performance. Like most people here I'm into best bang for my buck. A 60k+ car that makes 700hp and barely runs outa the 11s, probably handles like a shortbus is worthless. Unless your a try hard and wanna ride around with a fat car payment and tell people you have 700hp, but couldn't outrun a fox body mustang with an e cam and some gt40 heads lol.

So your saying a stock Hell Cat is faster than a stock C7Z?

Im a chev guy but I'm glad Dodge is finally coming to play too. Little late yeah but better for us all. I wish i could afford a new car.
New lt1 truck(with the little motor) and a 2.9 Whipple front feed made 465whp before running out of fuel. The bigger motor with the same blower made well over 500whp. Both through stock exhaust and all.

All the bullshit aside, I love that we're in an era that is arguing that a 707hp factory muscle car THAT HAS BEEN YET TO BE TESTED BY ANYBODY *might* not be good enough for some of our standards

Its amasing isn't it lol. They won't even give it a chance to prove itself before beating it down. I like the car.

I love when I see the HP, and technology bar get pushed higher, and higher, and higher. It's what most of us(here) are doing to our vehicles when we can afford it. IMO, it's seems to be a nice car, that I'd definitely consider it if I was already considering a new Camaro ZL1 or Mustang Shelby GT500 .
