Everyone claims Alky Control. I picked up a Devils Own for a great price so I went with them. My buddies have used Devils Own before with no issues so I am confident I will be ok. Couple of Mitsu Evo guys near me use the AEM unit mentioned in thread below and they like it.

Everyone is going to say alky control. It really is a quality kit however I was considering the aem methanol kit. It's simple, cheap, and effective.

Alky Control without a doubt. I was on the various Turbo Buick boards when Julio was running other kits and working on his. I've had one of his kits on my '89 TTA forever. The best thing is it's progressive and I can absolutely claim that it saved my engine.

I committed one of the ultimate no-no's in the Turbo Buick world. I changed a bunch of stuff at one time including a new Y vacuum line. I finally got the car back together, and backed off my RJC hybrid boost controller a good bit, then went for a ride. I rolled into it a few times and let out while keeping an eagle eye on the O2 and KR°. Everything looked perfect, but I was so focued on O2 and KR° that I didn't look at the boost. After all, I had backed my boost controller way down.

Well, I stopped, built 7psi and cut it loose on the floor board. I was still watching the O2 and KR° hard, (And thinking, wow, this sucker is really pulling now!), when it settled into 3rd gear and I finally looked at the boost gauge. It was passing 27psi on a stock turbo! I backed out with the sick feeling of knowing I just popped the engine since I was tuned for about 20psi before the changes (fuel wise, with '80 "electronics", if you can call it that).

However, his alky kit simply ramped up delivery as the boost went up and there were zero problems. It turned out that I had accidentally been sent a new Y vacuum line for a GN, not a TTA, and they don't have the same restriction orifice size. I ran the car again a few days later and it was holding 28psi in all gears. The 18+ year old stock turbo lasted about another 18 months at 28psi before it blew up. Now, I'm running a Limit TA61 at my lucky 28psi, and yes, it's a whole different animal now.

If I had the coin I would be doing a Aquamist kit on my Talon. I will be going with an Alky Control kit though.

IMO
Aquamist
Alky Control
AIS
Devils Own
AEM

I would have to go with Julio's kit, I have one on my 87 Grand National and have one on my 04 Chevy SSR, The one on my SSR was about 5 years old and I didn't take care of it like I should have but racing it and driving it on the street all them years and 1,000's of 1/4 miles and it never let me down, Pump gas and meth made the GN run 10.40 at 131 on 20 pounds of boost, Just a street car full weight, Power and ac and the SSR weighs 5200 pounds and it has run a best of 11.00 at 126, I wouldn't even look at another kit when I replace mine

I laugh anymore when I see these threads. 1, it's been beat to death. 2, I find it amusing what people use to justify was the 'best' kit is. I guess it's just reputation anymore and not the actual items in the kit. I'm done trying to educate people. For the record, I run the 'best' kit.

Alky Control is most mentioned and widely used for very good reasons.
