I was looking for a L33 but couldn't find one cheap.
I scored a short block 2008 LH6 5.3 , aluminum block, the stronger rods, flat top pistons for $250 all day long.
I know its a GEN IV vrs. your GEN III, but basically the same short block as the L33.
There are a few differences like valley cover , cam sensor location, different crank sensor, etc.
Of course I'm located in Texas , these engines are available everywhere.

Excessive line pressure in my glide has smoked the bearing in both of my 4.8's. A 60 shouldn't do it.

That's insane, that's what 6.0's go for around here. I picked up an L33 recently with 150k on it from a good yard in texas for just over $800

Rebuild that thing with good parts or find a craigslist deal on a local generic motor and do the basic stuff as others have suggested.

Sorry about your bad luck man!

Make sure that you get that stock crank checked. Stock cranks bend.
