Default E85 help

Until now I've been set on going 93 with meth when needed. I'm starting to consider e85 now. I know it requires more fule to make the same power, but has benefits that make it worthwhile. What injectors and pump would I need to make 800whp give or take? Will a Walbro 450 be enough for the pump? I'm a newb to e85, bare with me please. This is for a turbo 347.

From what I've read, the walbro 450 is supposed to support close to that power level. It's hard to know for sure until you tune it and drive it. I just put one in my nova for a 6.0, but haven't started it up yet.

Im on the same journey as you. But dual pumps will ensure you that you will not run out of fuel. I thought 1 450lph would be enough but I was informed 2 would make things better. Some guys here run triple Walbros 255lph around your same HP. Upgraded lines and maybe an inline filter is also needed for E85. But some experts will chime in and tell you their experiences. GLWB!!!!

Not sure if one 450 will be enough. Fuel is one place its 100% acceptable to go way overboard. I run dual 340s, -8an feed/-6an return, aeromotive FPR, and 127lb injectors @58psi base pressure.

I maxed out my 80lb injectors just shy of 800whp, my 127s are in the 70% range making over 800whp.

Just to play it safe you are making the right choice. Fuel Injector Clinic has a nifty little tool that will help you calculate what you need as far as fuel flow. Just did a rough estimate and for your setup with E85 using 52 PSi base pressure (pulled that number out of a hat) you would need 91 lbs/hr injectors. You can then use that to calculate what is needed from the pump.

This is almost identical to my setup except I had 2000cc injectors @ 37psi base pressure. Dual 340's will work great and is what I have currently. Dual 255's got me up to 735whp but we didn't want to push further as I was out of injector(95lb) at that time and wanted more pump overhead.

A single Holley Dominator would get you there and beyond.

Go with the 450's, they are made for E85. There are a few guys that have had issues with the 400's and E85.

Okay, thanks for the tip. I'm still on the fence about this. As I get closer to the build, I'm starting to get more extreme. I want to street drive the car, but not daily. There's a new gas station only a few miles away from me that sells e85 now. I'm just not sure if I want to always stock up on fule to have on hand, e85 goes faster than 93. But it's doable now, so I have a choice at least.

I have 2 450s and when I dynod one pump wasn't kicking on. The single 450 and 127lb injectors where 95% at 740rwhp. Granted my setup is hot air at the moment with a 11:1 AFR on gas scale.

Will I need to re place all the fuel lines, or is it just recommended?
