So the consensus is that spark was intermittent and you may have flooded the cylinders on that bank on consecutive cycles, resulting in bent rods? I am going to add some additional grounding to the valve covers and block now ha ha thanks

Not sure if it flooded the cylinders or not, but I believe that once the loose grd wires made a momentary connection the grd path was established and the stored energy in the coils discharged...although at the wrong time(s) and bent that bank. Its the only explanation IMO that explains how the drivers side ONLY rods all bent. But yeah, better grounding of the coils is always a good idea on these engines.
Ultimately though, I ended up scattering that engine on a 1/4 pass for no reason...so my guess is that the engine may have sustained more damage than was visible to the eye from that loose wire incident.
