Default 2012 cts-v noisey supercharger what the fix??

I have a 2012 cts-v. At my shop with a rattle in the super charger ...
I took of the supercharger belt and the noise goes away ...
I see gm extended the warranty on the supercharger ...
But this car has a branded title so the warranty is blocked ...
Is their a repair less expensive then replacing the entire unit ??

How many miles? Does it still have the stock spring loaded isolator? If so install a solid isolator. While you have the snout off check the shaft on the snout and blower.

3800 miles on the car

Is the solid isolater a part I get thru gm or aftermarket ??
Any thing else I'm going to need??

Looked into this with my buddies when it was making the rattling. Typically it is the coupler that starts to go. If it's really bad the bearings and seals have to be replaced.

Anyone actually replaced a coupler ....
Is the supercharger susposed to be a serviceable item ??
I have found the aftermarket solid coupler for like $40

Yes, new units I believe even have it. GM won't list the blower as a serviceable item but I know on my GTP they sold supercharger oil, even though if asked at the service dept if it needs changed they will tell you that you can't.

If I remember correctly when the coupler starts to go it leaves slack in the bearings and seals and they need replaced, not just a matter of changing the $40 part. If you have a hydraulic press and can find the rebuild kit (Think my buddy found it for ~$400) you can rebuild it yourself. Honestly just better off picking up a used unit.

I cant say for sure on a ZL1 blower but on the 3800 blowers i have replaced the couplers on a few. Fixed the problem for sure.

I already swap out for another used unit and the 2nd one was worse...
Take the s/c belt off and noise gone
So I figured next step was to attempt a repair
