I'm considering a C02 setup on my waste gates to keep my twins spooling nicely with the 6spd and General better control of boost. I'm curious if any of you guys run C02 on the street and if you do how long does it last? My car is primarily a weekend warrior.

I personally don't run C02 but a lot do on the street and I'm sure they will chime in. However an onboard air system is pretty cool and probably the route I will go when/if I feel I need it.

I run an AMS-1000 with co2 on the street. I have a 2.5lb bottle. It takes a long time to use a full bottle. The bottle i have now has 26 dyno pulls on it and ive been driving the car for 8 months and the bottle pressure has only went down 100 psi

Hell at the rate given by 98camaro that 2.5lb would prob last you 6months. I'm debating on running just a 1lb bottle for my weekend needs.

The biggest problem with c02 is if you use the plastic line with push lock fittings. If you leave the bottle open and it leaks, your stuck with whatever spring you have in the gate as far as psi.

Has anyone ever used a nitrogen tank in a setup like the boost leash or ams?

I feel like you would get even more life out of that even. Plus you can get the tanks from the paintball store that are pretty large and very light.

If you have a paintball store near you as well you can usually get them filled, they never actually ise nitrogen it is always just regular ole compressed air except their compressor goes anywhere from 3000-4500 psi usually. The tank has a reg on top that brings it down to like 100psi.

Just shut the bottle off when your not driving the car and it will last a long time. I love having the co2 boost is always perfectly flat

I'm using the Pushlok fittings and polyethylene hose. I'll be sure and shut it off.

C02 has an expansion rate almost twice as much as nitrogen. You can fit more gas in smaller area
