Default Looking for engine builder to build 1500HP shortblock

As the title says, im looking for a good engine builder. Not sure where to put this thread but since it has to do with my car being turbocharged, I figured this would be the right place.

What im looking for is cost. No jacked up prices for parts. Yes i'll pay $2500 for an lsx block, and msrp on Carillo ultra h beams. Looking to spend $7000-8500

We have short blocks with a 1500HP rating starting at $6599 and climbing to $12999, Give us a call if we can help you source the short block.
Thank you,
Kyle

Keep in mind, big name shops have big name markups. Yes they're good motors, but you're gonna pay dearly for them from a big name shop.
I priced my shortblock with Vengeance Racing and the guy must've taken me for crazy bc he quoted me $9,500 for a shortblock. I told him I wanted something to hold 1000-1200 hp streetcar.
Got my engine built by BB&T racing in Southaven MS, just outside of Memphis for WAAAAY less and ended up letting them put together the longblock for still way less.

^^LME is good no doubt about that but I wanted them to assemble a whole n/a motor for me till they told me 3500 bucks!! That's way too much!! HKE don't even charge that much and we all know as members on here how nice of work Erik does.

My vote goes to Erik if you can pin him down. He's one of the few guys left that offer a personal experience. Best advise I can give you is find someone local to you. Remember there is no warranty to speak of on built motors. If something goes wrong it's on you. You would be surprised at how many of these big name guys check a few tolerances and send it out the door as a "blue printed" motor.

I can second this. Ive gotten a few quotes as im having my motor built this winter. The big name shops do charge more in labor, but its because they have more overhead. You should get a good motor the big names but thats not always the case. I'd stay local if possible and definitely educate yourself beforehand so that you can ask the right questions.

That being said, i'll probably be taking mine to a smaller, but still well known shop

LME has built some of the baddest LSX motors known to man. Including a ton of MID 4 second 1/8th mile 2500-3000hp cars.

Considering the quality parts you need are around $7K.... I think your expectations are a bit low. An LSx block requires a lot more machining/checking than a production block. It also costs more to ship due to the weight.
