Default Crossover Pipe material

Im starting to build my crossover pipe for my lq4 turbo build. I happen to have a bunch of 2.5 inch 304ss 16 gauge piping laying around. Is this thick enough material or should I go with something thicker. What are some other sizes people have run?

Thats more than enough. Our shop builds charge air lines for diesel engines (higher boost levels) every day. 16 gauge is the typical wall thickness for sizes thru 6".

I am running schedule 10 304L stainless from ace stainless. Really nice stuff. Not too expensive either for 2". Inside diameter actually comes out to about 2 1/4". IMO 16 guage will crack over time with super high heat.

Thanks for the help guys. I think im gonna go to 2.25 inch. What manifolds are you guys using? I was leaning towards c6 ls2 manifolds since I don't have a ton of space to work with in between my frame rail and the motor

I'm using the hooker LS conversion manifolds. Nice pieces and reasonably priced. I couldn't get any stock LS manifolds that would work in my application with out major mods...........which cost money, so why not buy something that works outa the box?
