Default FAST intake boost limit

Have both LS6 intake/factory tb and fast 90/90. Just curious on boost limits on the fast 90. Ill be spinning the d1sc to max rpm 62,000 which I think should be around 16 psi.

Sell the 90/90 and put the cash towards something else. The LS6 Intake should be adequate for your goal without any issues. Besides, the Fast 90s have been known to crack under boost.

Just like anything else in a boosted application wouldn't the better airflow make more power under less boost? Original plan was spin the hell out of the d1 and run a wastegate to limit boost but after finding i have the pulleys to max out the head unit I may not do that anymore. Either way im power hungry I just dont want to ruin the fast.

Thanks for the input

I wouldn't risk it. There are too many people who have gone plenty fast with a LS6 intake and boost. JMO

Just out of curiosity what are people boosting through their fast intake? Ive seen a few 10-12 psi turbo builds through a fast 102.

I wouldn't' trust a fast. Ran 30lbs through an LS6 without issue.

A local guy had been running 25+ psi through his LS6 intake for a few years until a couple months ago in cold weather he hit 30 psi (1080 ish wheel hp) and blew the whole back of the intake out.

Ok ls6 is good to 30psi and is the smarter more reliable way to go. Has anybody found the limit on a fast and if so what was it?

somewhere on here there is a post about the 102 Fast intakes how they are much better for boost in strength. There was a 3lb weight difference in the new Fast, thats a lot of extra plastic. I just bought it for my LS3 turbo build.

Not sure what the limit of a fast is under boost but I wouldn't want to find out.

Run it to the max.
I wanna put mine on my 4.8 n see how much it takes. built the motor to handle 20+ on pump.
I glued the fast shut. As in its not coming apart no more unless i hit it with a 5lb. hammer.
Or it grenades with a backfire.

99% of the problems with the fast intakes are the older 90mm shells, fast recognize the problem and made a new she'll and haven't had hard let any problems with them.

You are correct, the original FAST 90 was prone to cracking under boost. Bob

Local guy went through 2 FAST 102mms in 2yrs on his boosted GTO with DBW throttle body. Don't peddle the car and shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I know a guy in Canada who has cracked 2 Fast 102's. I heard it was ~18-20psi. You know how that is, could have been 25-30#'s. Either way, A fast is too expensive for taking that chance compared to the gain you will receive. If your looking to do that, get a cast intake, and turn it up. JMO

Just go with an ls6 you can make a couple bucks off the sell and will make more than enough power. Plenty of guys are 1000+ on it. I blew a hole through my ls6 at 22psi but because only one BOV and I broke a flexplate. Besides that very reliable and cheap

Im at 20psi on my ls2 fast 102.. so far no problem... hoping to see 24psi this spring. going from stock ls3 intake to fast 102 i had to add 6% to the higher map readings.

I am not positive but I think it has 2 50mm BOVs, doesn't matter anymore switched over to PMC sheetmetal intake.
