Default SDCE PEEPS, Question before I hit the track...

O.K. Before I barf anymore, I am going over everything to make sure I have a successful night at the track.

Wendy, Scott, Blackbird....
How does my tension look in this pic does it need to be tighter??? Or am I good?

Should I put a coat of belt dressing on the blower belt just in case?? I just want BOOST

Other than that all looks good, Camera mounted on my custom made incar cam mount to get some good footage I hope.

thats how mine looks. I have never been able to get it tighter than that. I am going to attempt to this weekend following the directions that were posted on the SD website. To be honest I don't know what they use as the mark. So for example is your tension now 15 or 12????

SD can you enlighten me?

Thanks!

Good luck J!! It will be interesting to see how this works under abusive conditions at the track. I hope it comes thru with flying colors.

P.S. don't put that dressing crud on there Just see what it can do as is.

Ok ok, no belt dressing I will take it with me though....hey you never know, I might see 15psi and I might want to see if I can squeek 2 more psi out of it

My tension looks to be just past 15? or is it under 15? LOL. I can't tell either and I can't get it tighter.....but I will try again. On a side note I tightened the 3/4 tensioner bolt down to 55lb ft and I read that you guys rec' a much higher setting so I cranked that down some more.

Back to SDCE website I go, maybe I am missing something.

no belt dressing!!! Belt dressing is greasy and may make it worse. As Heath says, try it the way it is first. If you're determined to try anything, Scott recommends VHT trackbite. Put it on then let it dry.
Your tension is set around 12. There should be purple or yellow dots that line up when you're around 15. Scott says he also scribed an arrow on most of them, too.

No more than 30# are required for the tensioner not to slide...don't overtighten!!

You guys should still have room to go...Scott says that you shouldn't be as far as you can go...I'll figure out how to translate what he told me into english...

Heath, Kyle and Jeremy- we'll be here most of the weekend if you need help please call. It gets loud in here and we don't always hear the phone so LEAVE A MESSAGE!!! Good luck to all and keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks Wendy, I thought it was 12 but wasn't sure.

I am going to follow your instructions to the T this weekend and see if I can't hit the magic 15 on the tensioner.

Yeah baby!!
Here's a picture of the mark on the tensioner to line up with the numbers. When you get to the 15, there should also be amark on the number itself...

Did you find your stop??
