Default Aster bracket tensioner question

Just curious if this looks ok or not. I have the idler closest to the crank pulley and here is a pic of the tensioner. I know the directions say between the top and middle mark are good but this rides on the top maybe just a hair under.

That's fine, but you may find that after the belt stretches a little, that you may want to adjust the idler and move it to a tighter position.

I agree. I new belt will stretch quite a bit in the first hour of it's use. Bob

If the idler is in the 'tightest' position, then consider getting a slightly shorter belt, and moving the idler to the loosest position.

Just curious, what pulley is on the head unit and crank?

cbr 8.65 crank, 4.13 blower. Maybe im thinking backwards but if the tensioner is the way it is now with it at the upper most line, if the belt stretches from use or under throttle wont that move the line towards the middle more thus giving it more range to keep the belt tight?

You are correct. It's fine at this point, but just keep an eye on it after you drive for a little bit, because like Bob and I said, the belt will stretch a little bit, especially the cheaper belts, so just make sure it isn't moving a lot.

I understand what your saying now. As it stretches it could end up moving the reference point on the tensioner up and out of spec. Got it. Thanks guys.
