Question FAST E-dist and Crank Trigger box?

Which Sponser carries these and are readly available, Im goin full standalone to get rid of the stock computer and make tuneing much easier. I know PSJ is doin this and im wanting to also. How hard is this gonna be to wire up and get running? Im gonna try to get Rob Raymer to tune it if i can ever get ahold of him. Im wanting to hurry up and get to the 9's in the high 140's. I don't think its gonna be too hard to do so.

I'm in the process of doing it.

I think I would reccomend that you PM '427' and ask Kurt from W2W for those parts. He has spent a ton of time with me to help figure out how to wire the car up and I should be done sometime this week.

I will attach some pics of the parts tomorrow.

Is the wireing something i can tackle myself or better let a shop do? Does it come with directions? I dont know what i would have to unwire cause some of it is already wired in piggyback to the stock Pcm. Im trying to get the car right and safe tune. And hope it will pick up some power in the process.

I have a thread of notes in the Diagnostic Forum but here is what I think...

-You have a FAST bank/bank setup on there now just controlling fueling with the Cartek crank box...
-To run full FAST as a standalone you will need to wire in an eDIST, and a crank solution ie the crank box from FAST or an MSD crank trigger
-Right now you have very little from the FAST wired in, just the map sensor, iat sensor, hybrid crank, and coolant temp sensor, if your setup is like how mine was
-To go standalone you need to wire in as well, the iac, tps, cam sensor, rewire the crank sensor, come up with a solution for your dash gauges, and other stuff like the starter and alternator
-If you could have a shop do it, it might be worth it, it's up to you

What kind of solutions did u come up with? I really feel like doing it myself instead if it just following your basic directions to do it. I know u have came up with some solutions just like to know what they are, im trying to get this done before the big race in Bowling Green on June 11th. I PM'd 427 (Kurt) but he hasnt replied yet. Let me know what u came up with Pm or can i call u and ask u some questions? Thanks Justin

To go full standalone you have to get an eDIST box and a crank decoder.

The F.A.S.T. E-Dist can be purchased from any FAST dealer. There are many in the U.S.A. If you have trouble finding one we can arrange to have one sold to you through Thunder Racing, More Performance etc.

I will touch base with F.A.S.T. in the next couple days to ask how far they have come on the LS1 firmware & sensor compatibility. Last I spoke with them was at the PRI show in Dec and there was nothing available then.

Okay...

Try Kurt @ W2W at kuperf@aol.com or try other vendors. But Kurt is the one that really knows how to wire it all up and he's the one you will want to PM, IM , or call with questions.

The eDIST runs the coils, and the crank decoder converts the LS1 24x signal to a 4x.

You can try to buy the crank decoder from anyone but 95% of the shops out there don't know how to troubleshoot and install the parts.

John is correct. In this case the support is very important.

How do they get the cam sync out of that box for SEFI operation?

You are in the same boat, the only existing wiring you have to redo is the crank decoder.

But you have to add a bunch of sensors.

Justin, sorry I did not get back to you. We are finishing a car for power tour that leaves our shop weds morning for texas.
The crank box is not available to the public yet, that will be your main problem.
The e-dist is a easy purchase. It takes some wiring skills to install but we can walk you thru it.
Thursday later in the day I should be done putting out fires if you want to call.

Justin - sorry I didn't get back with you also. Been seriously hectic too. It sounds like Kurt has the EDist in stock, if not, I can help you. I do have the crank trigger on the shelf. It's no problem tuning your car.

When I last talked to FAST about the crank decoder, it is supposed to be available now. Retail was going to be around $150 for it.

What kind of dampner do you have Justin?

You should call Rob before you drive there. Make sure he has the crank box. There were only five prototype's released and none of them went directly to Rob.
The release of the production decoder box i'm told will be soon.

Yah you might want to clarify if Rob can get you an eDIST or the crank box, I have crank box #3, and first two are still at FAST on mule motors is my understanding.
