I don't blame you. I wouldn't have known if I didn't start with 38's and noticed no change on the IFR.

But spending $200 for almost the same thing isn't my idea of a good buy.

but still..i would say its pump pressure.

my single 255 was dying or something...my fuel pressure would drop from 62psi to close to 40psi at 6500. this is even with a rising fpr. i wired in dual stock pumps and it maintained pressure and even rose up to ~70psi

True, if the pressure stayed up to 58. My injectors wouldn't work as hard.

I just remembered something, there was a silver tip on the end of the pump outlet. Any idea what that is for? It came off when we removed the hose. I put it back on, but I wonder if it came off and got lodged in the line?

How loud is the intank? I can hear it pretty good if I close my Borla?

I guess I may have to drop it again this weekend.

Thanks for checking. For piece of mind., I will change out that fuel line back to a 5/16. Should be easy a second time. I want to take off that silver tip if it isn't an issue.

I don't think I can have a door with a Vert.

i have the same injectors, and i was told they were 42's as well....

do you reccomend keeping them, or swapping for something else.

500rwhp is my power goal

I am making over 500rwhp with them spraying a dry shot + the blower so I think they will be fine.

I'm not sure how accurate that chart is anyhow, I feel bad now that I brought it up because thats what I have in the car and didnt even realize it. I'm pretty sure the 'real' SVO had a different bosch number on them.

I have 2 sets of the 280-150-558, one set I bought recently and the other about 1.5 years ago.
I hope they are the ones that can support some HP So is it right to think 8x84=672hp? Or not?

Thanks,
Jeremy

I run the same kit as you and I have the same exact problem. Didn't notice it when I first installed the gauges, but nonetheless, scared the bejesus out of me when I finally did. I put the car on the dyno(mustang), and af was right around 12. Everything looked right and so far everything runs great, no problems. One of the other guys here has the exact same problem and couldn't find out the source of the problems either, so as long as it isn't hurting me(as far as I know) I'm not going to worry about it.

The major problem here is with the location of the pressure regulator.

What alot of you guys who have the bigger pumps dont seem to understand is the 98 cars are totally different then the 99 up. The 98 dual pumps all seem to work fine. I wonder how many 99 up cars have dual pumps that work. I know it wouldnt fix my problem (which is the same as Ed's) and i have a 2000. T/A. Im gonna say dont waste your money buying parts that might not fix it. Go all out, get rails, braided lines, an aeromotive regualtor, eliminator fuel pump and a sumped tank. You might even be able to drill a hole in your stock plastic tank, I think speed inc might have done it once. and run a line straight to the rail using the top of the tank for the return line.

It is better than before, dropped to 35-40 and DC was 146%
Install a front-mount fuel pressure regulator & -6 Teflon return line and remove the regulator in the tank. The GSS340 is able to support 600RWHP in a F-LS1 with proper voltage (use upgrade harness). The rails and feedline are not an issue at your HP level. If you require more fuel a pump booster can be added or you can go with dual-in-tank pumps. Sumps, big noisy pumps, heavy braided lines etc. are all old-school big-dollar solutions to what is a fairly simple problem.

A universal regulator, fittings and some -6 Teflon braided line can be had for under $200.00. With a little elbow grease and some simple soldering you can fix your pressure drop problem. You may also use the FM FPR to reference your FP to manifold pressure thereby extending the operating range of the injectors you have now. This will require you to rescale your MAF / fueling tables but it will be well worth it in the long run.

Ed...im looking at my pumps now.

I see the silver nipple you are talking about. I would venture to say that your silver nipple might of come back off. as i cannot take mine off at all on either pump.

I think Harlan did 600rwhp with a boosted walboro intank, SVO42# injectors, and '97 vette rails(manifold referenced regulator on rail with return) back on his Incon setup. That's right in line with what Jack(Racetronix) is talking about.

Hmm, any idea what it is for? Guess I will drop the tank to make sure and remove it. Hope not having it there won't cause a problem.

louder than a stock pump yes....louder than vortech inline pump...no

im thinking the silver nipple acts as
#1 when you place the hose on it..it makes it harder to back off from the pressure
#2 a way to channel the pressure in a stream. IE...like a garden hose sprayer...hold down the handle on the sprayer and water comes out in a single hi pressure stream..take the sprayer off...water just comes rushing out

Cool.

I think I will just drop the tank this weekend and take the nipple out. And just double-clamp it. Just for piece of mind.
