derty thanks for the quote.. but i have to admit that if i would have responded again quoting those exact words of mine it would have been viewed as me 'arguing'.. hope i'm wrong.

i agree chris, i wasnt updated with any changes to the agreement.

ryan it says that it cuts the boost to half and when that safe pressure is met it will go back to normal.. so i would say it definitely reduces it all the way to half of the obs setting.. thats how the words strike me and thats how my controller has seemed to respond. the controller's normal function is to reduce the boost down to the desired level... the Overboost kicks in once that normal function has failed for whatever reason.

libertine it is a really nice piece.

anybody else want to stay on topic?

MM - if your overboost was set at 15# were you trying for 13#? and if so are you seeing spikes? Or did you mean that you had your over boost set at the same setting as your desired boost?

i was running 14psi and the next setting was 16 psi. my overboost was set to 15psi.. i have a 10psi wastegate spring.

on the way up to 16psi it hits overboost shutdown at 15psi and the controller cuts boost down to half that (7.5 psi).. if my wastegate spring was that low it would go that low, but instead it can only go down to 10 where it approximately stays for the remainder of the run or until i let off enough to get below 7.5 psi.

when not hitting overboost i have it set up for about a .5 psi spike to keep spool time as low as possible.

What is your fuel mix for your "670rwhp" tune?

So now that you noticed this mistake, what tune will you use the next time you go to the track? You still have to beat Harlan's old mph of 142-143mph to beat mph, and then a 10.doh to beat his ET. I'd borrow some 28's and beat the front part of the inner fender in and go racing and see what it will really max out at. Sounds like you would be shooting for 145mph+ with your 775rwhp tune, maybe almost 150mph?

We are trying to moderate harder but we can't help it if folks just can't get along.

That seems to be a bit of a glitch that you can have a lower overboost than what your desired boost is set at. Dont take the blame for this one, Turbosmart should have Poke Yoked that out of the controller. All in All though it sounds like a great product with lots of nice features, Im in! Good luck next time out, time to shake the list up a bit I think

libertine, maybe i am explaining it incorrectly.. it makes perfect sense to me how it works... i just forgot to change the setting from 15 to 20 once i was safe to run more than 15.

john i had approx a large quarter tank of 93.. call it 4 gallons maybe.. i added 2 gallons of 115 to that.

next time i go to the track will be back at my home track with the short shut down area.. i'll start with the 14psi tune as i have never run that there before and likely move it up as long as i dont have trouble stopping.. so far these pro stops/hawks are working superb. you're right i would love to try a set of 28's if i can locate some.
on a lighter, better 60'ing version of my car that power could of course do 150 in the quarter, i really can't say if i want to take my car that far.. I am allready completely satisfied as is.

if it takes going 144 to get harlan out of hiding then so be it

Its funny how a guy who's been running this boost controller for a while. Comes in and tells the person what he is doing wrong. Then he tells him
he is wrong, and go back and read up on the manual.
MM dont be so threatened by Rob. He is just trying to help(or make sure you come to N vs S with no excuses). Hope you solve the problem.
Cause I cant wait to see you two line up in a few weeks .

I cant understand why two talented people argue about things they love? You guys need to just make up and post videos of it. No need for all the hositility. Many of us are jealous of both of you guys..

I need brakes bad, my are warped to hell.

Oh yeah can I use you pic? I have a ton of F-body desktop pics and would like to see that one pop up every five minutes?

It's funny how you naturally assume Rob and right and Dave is wrong even though multiple people have come on to confirm what Dave is saying and no one is confirming Rob's point. For whatever the reason, they don't like each other. I doubt Rob was here to help Dave.

As for a race I'd love to see it too, but keep in mind a company is calling out an individual. Dave doesn't have an automtive shop backing him up so even if Rob beat him it wouldn't mean much to me. But if you want to bring the QMP kit you bought with your money, call Dave out then you got a race on even footing. Not that I'm trying to setup races for Dave or anything, but keep things in perspective. TTi client v. QMP client = even race.

JMHO,
Mike

p.s. I know jack about the turbosmart controller so I have no clue who is right

hey mike wheres my vid!! im gettin antsy heh.

funny how people like to argue about me and rob arguing more than me and rob actually argue (follow that?)

its not a huge deal to me, i'd rather go and watch that race, i know i would break something, and i know i would be nothing compared to y2khawk and my luck goes even further downhill when i stop racing myself and start racing to beat other people.. i'd rather go to have a good time and put some names with faces and have fun.. not to smoke somebody in particular at the track.. besides that one there would be a long line to get in

If you can get on turbostangs and quickly make 20posts you can get one of these for $410 shipped

http://www.turbomustangs.com/forums/...0&pagenumber=1

I was tempted to buy one, but i don't have the cash flow right now. But it's a damn good deal.

And Mike... right with ya man!
