Okay, so I guess you don't need my help then?

02Blue - I can agree with you. That very well may be the difference. Good point.

And I actually agree with MM here. If anyone needs any help with the turbosmart controllers, they should in fact PM MM. His track record with it has proven he knows how to use it correctly. Whereas, I just got lucky.

Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn't want a boost controller that cuts my boost in half when it reaches an overboost limit. That's just retarded. If that's what this controller does, according to MM, then that will keep me from buying one down the road. I'll be content with my HKS controller. :p
The OBS is there for a reason.... to PROTECT your engine in the case of overboosting... break that down... more boost than you want/and/or tuned for/can safely run. If you are overboosting than something is WRONG. Instead of trying to finish the pass and make a decent time, how about you let off and see what the hell is not working correctly.... as in a wastegate line blowing off/melting, etc... or even if user error in that you tried to crank your boost up in the burnout box but went too high not paying attention. Cutting it in half is great.. better yet kill all the boost.. then you stand less of a chance of popping something.

Either way we are beating a dead horse... if you don't like/agree with what THEIR instructions say, call turbosmart and tell THEM they are wrong.

Not saying OB protection isn't a necessity, but that if I am running 20lbs, hit 22lbs, and it drops me to 10lbs all within a second or two, the motor is going to be dumping A LOT of fuel into the motor with less air until I let off the throttle. Last I heard that wasn't good for a motor either. I'm no expert and I think really only the turbosmart guys should be considered an expert on why their EBC does what it does. If I wanted help with their unit, I'd probably contact them directly first.

Agree this is really just pointless. Fix your damn EBC dave and race that heap again this weekend!!

Yeah I meant adjust your **** and race!

Regarding boost regulated fuel, good point. I guess worst case would be a hickup of fuel.

Either way, I'd like to see you and Raymer just get it over with and race.

The DFI sounds cool Dave. I am going to keep plugging with edit since I already have it. Rob got good results so I will try to replicate those. Can the turbosmart function ok with twins?

sure i dont see why it wouldnt be able to.. the cotroller doesnt know where its getting the signal from.. be it one or two turbo's.

well jerry as you know the stock computer CAN certainly support hp in controlled conditions.. but it will quickly get tricky when you try to get 600rwhp+ capable through weather changes.

Sorry, I have to once again disagree. I ran over 700rwhp with the stock PCM and stock engine from November until March. That's basically from below Zero to 80+ degrees. (how's that for weather changes?)

Bottom line: If it's tuned right, it's not a problem.

Transdamit - sorry I couldn't help.

02Blue - No race for me and MM. It wouldn't be fair. I have a shop and car mod tax write-offs. Even though his car is MUCH MORE MODIFIED THAN MINE, it still wouldn't be fair .
