Default fascia removal cx racing intercooler 4th gen trans am pics

I searched Google for pictures and found nothing so thought I'd contribute. Pictures are worth 1000 words so...

These are the hard to get to bolts. Especially the horizontal 1. 2 nuts and 1 long bolt

That is a 11\16 access hole I drilled in the inner fender, used an 8" extension and 10mm. It is possible to get a small ratchet in there and not drill the hole but I didnt

Other side...

Heres a shot of the 3 top and 4 bottom bolt holes. And hard to see but there is a metal tab that sits near the headlight with a small screw in it.

The 6 push rivets

You can see the metal tabs in this shot

worked my *** off this weekend and still not done.

I did learn that the overflow tank can stay but the horns need to be rotated counter clockwise and moved forward 3". There is an existing hole that can be taped to the size of the horns bolt without drilling. Also there is a vacuum reservoir near the horns that has to go.

I found it wasn't necessary to remove the bumper. Just remove the foam. The bumper was blocking a lot of my airflow so I trimmed the hell out it.

I also added these standoffs cause the lower brackets bent at 40mph and pushed the core into the bumper.

I got a proper bumper in there now.

I had to trim the fiberglass here to get the core lower so the top of the fascia would clear.

Here's where I cut the fog light holes and license plate out.

A little paint helps a lot.

The pipes were designed for a turbo application where the fans have been moved in front of the radiator so I am having a lot of trouble making them fit.
Ok, to make the pipe fit you have to remove the fans and trim the passenger side fan guard/shroud as much as possible but not so far that the pipe touches the fan. A picture follows.

TorqStorm Supercharger to intercooler.

This is how much clearance I have and why I reduced that first pipe to a 2.5". I may cut the hood and change it to a 3" later.

These 2 boxes have to be removed from the OEM brackets and pushed aside.

All these pipes came in the kit except for the first piece, where I've used a 2.5" exhaust pipe for now. You must cut this pipe like so. It was designed for a bottom mounted turbo instead of a top mount. The lengths are perfect this one just needs to be rotated.

I don't have a shot of the last piece going into the intercooler.
Intercooler to intake

This is where I had to trim the fan.

The kit has the silicone for A MAF setup. I used my old TorqStorm stuff and a SD tune.

A/C line is a huge PITA. I had to bend it down which kinked it.

Well I guess that is it. I'll post some IAT charts here when I get them.

Here are 2. I'm amazed how well this works. The smaller pulley is going back on today. I had stopped using it because my IAT could go over 200. I get to rescale my IAT gauge now, yea. Notice is goes to 180.

You got any pictures of how the fascia is supported now that the foam is gone?

Most people don't support the bumper with anything. I got a bumper support from Midwest chassis. And hung the Intercooler off of it.

I would really appreciate some pictures of the intercooler install location. Are The brackets in the kit for a Camaro?
Can I keep the washer reservoir?

I just did this and have pics of evrything you need. I can text them if you pm me your #. I used the cx racing 31x12x4 size also. It fits perfect and the bumper barely sits on the top intercooler brace perfectly. I easily kept the washer tank but as you probably know the fogs have to go.

Why did you hang your IC off that flimsy fiberglass support? Will your bumper cover go back on with the IC being out that far forward

That is the way the kit has it hung. It's actually not bad at all. Most of the weight is on the bottom brackets. The fiberglass is pretty strong.
The fascia is back on and it fits like a glove.

Here are some from my build. I fabricated my own intercooler bracket, and it is very strong and sturdy while remaining light. The bumper is supported with factory nuts and push pins.

Wow..it works much better than I expected. I'm very pleased with it. The drive to work never went over +4 ambient. I used to be at +30 cruising and +120 boosting
