Default Recommendations on Lq4 turbo/240sx swap

Hi I am looking for a recommendation on a few parts to complete my turbo Lq4/240sx swap.
Current parts list:

2005 Lq4
Ls1 Intake Manifold
Gto Oil Pan
Microsquirt v3 (planning on using Denmah's 5.3 tune as a base map)
80lb ev6 siemens deka injectors
Garrett gt4082 turbo
Turbonetics Evolution III Wastegate
Tial Bov
Essex Fpr
Q45 Diff with a 3.54 Final gear
Spec twin disk clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.
99 Camaro T56
B&m Ripper Shifter

I am looking for:

a good cam for boost. (Ls6 or Ls9)
Valve springs (Pac 1218 or Ls9 springs)
Rocker Arms Trunion kit

Many people say go with both the ls6 and ls9 cam. Which one would be better for my application?

Is it necessary to use pac springs with a factory cam?

People upgrade trunions because the needle bearings fail. Are there any other parts I should upgrade/replace due to failures?

I want to achieve a reliable 500-600 hp with a decent power band on 93 octane. Am I on the right track?

Thanks Steve

I would say LS9 cam, however, they are front sensor cams versus the gen. III rear cam sensor, like what your motor is. It will run but have some issues. Also, LS9 springs don't work on anything BUT LS9 heads, I found out the hard way.. The LS6 cam will perform, and you can get away with LS6 springs as long as you don't run into valve flutter. Trunion upgrade is a must to me, cheap insurance. What head gaskets are you going with? And ARP head fasteners?

I appreciate your input. I think the ls9 cam can run okay on the microsquirt without the cam sensor.(not certain) I will use the ls6 springs. Not sure on the head gaskets or studs yet. What head gasket would you recommend?

Thanks Steve

LS6 cam would be a much better choice if you can find one these days. The LS9 cam has aggressive lobes. I wouldn't run LS6 springs with it. Personally I'd jump right into PAC1218 springs. Then I'd look into aftermarket cams. If you want cheap... There are some $290 SpeedMaster USA cams that would work really well.

This would work very well IMO.

LS9 gaskets and ARP studs are the way to go on the top end.

The GTO/LS1 or any centrally located pickup pan is an issue IMO. They tend to uncover the pickup on hard acceleration. I'd order an improved racing baffle kit for the GTO pan. ($200) Or just buy a rear sump pan. (about the same price.)

I think he has to run the front sump pan for the 240sx swap.
I can't remember but I think the rear sump pans don't clear the k-member.

Yup, 240SX requires a front-sump oil pan.

I ordered the Ls9 cam, Ls6 springs, and a trunion kit a few days ago. If it doesn't work out I will take your advice. I currently have a gto oil pan installed on the Lq4. I am planing on head gaskets and studs. Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions and posting links!

You are correct. I am running the gto oil pan by modifying the factory cross-member.
