Default cam for TEA heads and D1SC

What would you guys go with? I have a 2001 auto WS6 and want 500-550 on the stock shortblock and 600 after I forge it down the road(if not sooner). Trying to get some ideas. I also have Hooker lt's and true duals if it matters and st3500. Thanks.

224/230// keep overlap down... so the lsa will be in the 114-116 range..

I'd say 224/230//115 +2.

If you plan staying with stock cubes down the road get a 224/230 or something along the lines of it....

Exactly what i would of chose for stock cubes........ a 224/230 with .580ish to .590ish on at least a 114 LSA should work rather well.. or you can go a little bigger like me and PSJ and try a 230/236......... that is what we both run..... but im using a AP Engineering Iron block 370ci motor.

Anybody use a reverse split with a blower ever? What is the reason for such a split when using ported heads and a very well flowing exhaust. Just looking for knowledge. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

I answered your pm, but the answer is that none of the cam grinders that I know reccomend a reverse split like the one you mentioned. We want maximum exhaust scavenging not minimum.

If you stay stock cubes, don't go too huge on the cam otherwise you have to spin it higher to hit peak power.

I disagree on the 224/230 you don't need that high of duration unless you plan on spinning your motor past 6400.

There is NO need to do that with a supercharger, you want a smaller duration cam which will yield more area under the curve.

It really depends if you have a race setup versus a street setup. In addition you don't need to have that much lift, you risk pistons smacking valves when you have less of a safety margin with p to v clearance.

My STOCK cam makes power to 6400 rpm , we stopped it there cause I don't have valve springs.

I recommend a Z 06 cam, its cheap and it works.
