Default Wiseco Or Diamond pistons?

Right now I have JE pistons 194883 and I was only doing around 10 or 12# of boost with a D1SC procharger but since then i have upgraded to an F1-A and i'm wanting to run a lot more boost (25# or so). I was wondering which one of these brands of pistons i should go with. I want to have no issues at all and for them be able to handle that much boost with no problems. I also have stock heads right now and am going to be purchasing AFR 225's. I have a 99 ls1 trans am and it's been bored .20 over. I would also like to be in the 10.5:1 - 11:1 compression range. I'm guessing I will need the AFR 225's with 62CC?

Either brand should be fine, they have both been proven to handle some ridiculous power. A bad tune will be about the only thing that will kill them.

I prefer JE, Venolia and Diamond over Wiseco. Can you get where you want on the JE's with some larger combustion chambers and maybe target 18 or so on the boost? The bigger heads will flow better too which will create lower boost compared (more flow) to your present set up.

My F1C was at 19#'s with a 3.7. I don't know that you can reasonably get to 25 without fighting a bunch of belt slip and general pain in the rear. I am at 364 cid btw.

There is the original build on my engine...note the date.

Wes had it freshened up last year before I bought it due to it being run without an air cleaner. That didn't include any big components. Same block, pistons, rods, heads ect.

15 to 19#'s

any idea if i should just go with a 408 and upgrade from an F1-A to an F1-R procharger? i'd be able to make more boost by upgrading my head unit to the F1-R correct?

JE, CP, Manley, Wiseco, Diamond etc will all handle abuse. 25 PSI and that compression I'd be more concerned with the keeping the heads sealed. Not to mention an aluminum block LS1 .020.

yep. that's why i'm thinking about an iron lq4 or lq9 for a block. I'll be using arp bolts and gm ls9 head gaskets

Use ARP studs and leave as much meat in the bores as you can.

They are rated for the same max psi but not sure why it matters. I'd much prefer making more power on less boost. It all will depend on how efficient/inefficient your setup is.

At 25# you need to look into rods as well.
