Default whats the difference with these coil packs?

Went to put my coil packs on my lq4 tonight. Noticed the coil packs I pulled off a 2001 5.3 were completely different. The ones off the 5.3 seem to fit alot better with my forward facing headers. Is one better than the other for a turbo lq4?

This is the original ones that I got with my lq4

This is the one from the 5.3

There are several different designs. Use the more modern ones, but no big deal either way

The newer ones are the bigger packs. They are literally twice the size. Id like to use the skinnier ones. There is no benefit either way? There had to be a reason they changed the design I would think. Im just worried about performance dif.

The top picture looks like very old LS1 coils, ie the larger coils.

Unless you're pushing well above 1k, I doubt you'll ever tell any difference. There must be at least 6-7 LS coil variations. They're all very powerful.

Oh really? I got the motor from a member here. He sent them along. I didnt even stop to think that they are off something different. That would make sence that the 5.3 truck ones fit this perfect. Thanks!

There is no doubt they were fitted to other models too, but that would be where they first appeared.

As said, there are loads of coil variations.
