Default another day another dyno

the pot called the kettle black yea yea i went and bought one of them methanol kits as the race gas over the weekends was getting annoying.

split the methanol 50/50 with water and the rest was 93 octane.

this was at the same boost that it did 775 numbers with on 115 octane at turbotech.

so far i'm very happy with how the new system works... it is the snow kit.... have some more tinkering to do with the nozzle and stuff but not bad for a shakedown.

i'm off the computer till tomorrow morning, have a party to go to.. cheers!

i havent changed the timing or fueling at all, i just am using it to replace the race gas... but in most cases it is used to allow for more boost or/and more timing.

the difference between the two runs is allmost 2psi boost.

I'm still installing a progressive control alky kit I bought over at www.alkycontrol.com . So far, so good, but have not had much time to work on the car.

Putting it on just so I can run pump gas for 10+ psi.

What are the details on the snow kit?

i have it turning on via whatever boost i set the external output from the turbosmart boost controller

i have the 220psi pump tighened to full tilt and the 625 single nozzle in there now... have a second 375ml nozzle that i will probably be installing soon to see how that does.
i am using the stock washer reservoir in which i mounted a low level sensor and the alchol bulkhead.. and it still works to clean my windshield i did not get the progressive controller because my boost comes all in at once anyways.

How long does the Methonal tank last you before you have to refill it?

depends on how big your tank is.. and how much you spray. the stock washer tank is somewhere over 3 quarts and the standard one is 2 quarts.

just on the dyno 2 4th gear pulls maybe used a cup full?

The SMC kit or Razor's kit (http://www.alkycontrol.com/) is a much better kit than the snow kit, IMO. Meth certainly works on blower cars! We had a friend of mine's mustang on the dyno this weekend, with a tiny little 331 inch motor at 8.5:1 compression with a serpentine YSi-Trim we made 750 RWHP on pump gas + meth, non-intercooled!

methanol is great for making power thats why the f1 cars use it, the downside is that if you have a fire you can't see the flame.

well i didnt come on here to battle favorite alchy kit companies, but i'm glad you have one that works for you as well as this one works for me.
again as i say the progressive controllers do me NO good, so the fancy stuff isn't a plus for me.

I wasn't trying to say the snow kit was a bad product, just that i've had good experience with the SMC/alkycontrol kits and havn't heard anything stellar about Snow's customer service. Either way you cut the cake, 765 RWHP with 93 octane in the main tank is a crapload of power

Yea wish I would have brought the camera.... the car looked like it was coming off the dyno on the second pass... he he.
Funny thing is, the place we dynoed is a mustang place..... a few stangers were watching as well as the #1 guy on their dyno list..... and now they have a turbo firebird on top
