Not sure why people don't compare price points evenly. Racepak starts at $700+, often $1000 with options and you compare to a $250 piece of junk, haha. If you compare something Holley makes that's the starting price of the Racepak then you have not only a higher quality screen but even more options then the Racepak. Personally I think the Holley 7.5" dash looks fine.

Do you just like to argue. We aren't talking about all products that are available we are talking about what he was using (racepak) compared to what he is using now (4" Holley). I'm fully aware that there are better options out there.i simply said I bet he misses his racepak. I typed a lot more but nvm.

4" screen could be small...depending on what it does etc.

The large screen looks good. The Racepak along with all other bland colourless LCD screens....just ***** IMO.
I tried one a few years ago and hated it.

I had a lot of glare issues while night driving with the oled type displays. Eventually just went back to gauges. The racepak don't look like it glares at all.

I never have liked any kind of digital screens for my speedo or rpm. Stock or aftermarket. I like the needle and gauges to actually be there. I won't ever put a digital screen in any of my cars if I don't have to... I don't even like the digital screen on the new stock cars like the corvette ect... Seems like they were to lazy to install the actual hardware to me..

The screen should be designed not to glare ? huge mistake on Holley's part if it doesnt do that. Although you can get anti-glare perspex that you could put over the front of the screen which might help.
If it's a touchscreen you're fucked though lol

I think the glare is just part of how oleds produce light. Ever been on the highway at night whIle someone with their phone out is in front of you? It lights up the whole cabin.

even on a totally black screen, they throw a lot of light.

I think the back lit lcd like the racepak is much better at night.

I've the Plex SDM500 dash as a secondary display. No issues with glare night or day, it's a TFT display.

There's no reason why an OLED could not be dimmed to work fine at night in a car etc ALthough I guess sunlight on a shiny screen as most OLED are could present a problem.

Either way, I just think all the plain LCD type displays are *****.

That 250.00 Holley displays plenty of info and data logs, stores plenty of tunes and allows minor tuning changes. I have no glare with mine. Christ what more can you expect for 250.00.

I guess I missed that he replaced the whole MS3Gold box with the Holley system. I did notice that he replaced the racepak with the holley display on a video on youtube.

I just haven't heard from him as to why...

If you haven’t tried it…

If you use the 3-way or 4-way boost valve to phase out the bottom port and apply all the pressure to the top port you can get a lot more range with a light spring. I’ve accidently bounced off 30lbs with a 9lb spring in the gate. That’s with manifold pressure only feeding them post IC on a 3-way solenoid. Not sure how high It would go with 100 D/C. Usually only run around 20lbs.

Because he wanted to try it and see what all the fuss was about. I believe someone actually gave him the system to try, but I don't remember for sure.

RE: the "dirt" in the fuel,, Mixing race an pump gas can cause a brown precipitation when the additive packages are not compatible, there is a reason most drums of race gas say do not mix fuels.

I've worked at the track with Sunoco fuel engineers in road race events and they said its because the additive package in race fuel often won't pass VOC testing (SO not street legal) and some of the chemicals are really active nasty ones.. There are several of the 104+ octane unleaded blends that can LOWER octane when mixed with pump 92.. SO it seems like Fuel quality can introduce liquids that turn to solids in the filter under some conditions? Just t thought.. And the micron size of the filter won't matter in this example..

In the fast FWD junk we are springed for 6-8 psi and run 50-60+ on the big end with the 4 port working.

i sprung to 5psi and was easily able to hit my 16lb boost cut tonight on 65% so really happy with that

i did re ring the motor only with lower mileage rings, power seems to be back, so looks like that is all it was as that is the only thing i replaced mechanically, i always wanted to try Holley so i bought a complete system after i heard they now support flex fuel input

i am not sponsored, no one gave me anything, it was expensive.

threw it on the dyno tonight for some shakedowns with -2deg of timing out of my former base map

Maybe I missed it...which engine is in it now? Re-ringed the 6.0 that bent rods?

Weird it was making 24 hp per psi going from 4-10lbs. Then 20 hp per pound from 10-13lbs, Then 28hp per lb from 13 to 15lbs! Does that mean the timing was probably not high enough at 4-13lb range? Or do you think the compressor wasn’t at its happy spot on the map in the lower boost levels?

Can you setup the boost to come in at X rpm (or MPH) with the Holley like you can with the MS3? Seems like if you could pour on the boost over 6k you could get your peaky 4 digit power level dyno number without pounding on it so hard at low RPM. Should be a lot easier on things if you only make “big” power well above peak torque.
