Default Blow through guys in here..

trying to decide what to do with my truck, it has a basic 5.3 with a s476r. im seriously considering blow through and want to hear from those of you that went that route.

my questions would be.
what carb did you go with, CSU, C&S, Pro Systems, Etc.

What does your fuel system consist of, pump, lines, regulator, Etc.

how much tuning did you have to do to the carb out of the box?

is the car mainly street, strip, or both?

how reliable do you consider it to be, do you daily drive it, how many miles have you put on the car?

is there much tuning to do to account for weather changes, such as spring 40 degree air, to summer 85 degree air?

any information is much appreciated, thanks guys!

I have used several of Kevins (CSU) carbs, and very little if any tuning to get it right-I switched to FI, but I found the carbs to be a simpler setup
I use the Holley controller, and love the data log, etc, but an LM1 works fine with a carb
carb, A1000 pump, and MSD controller and your LS is in business
FI is hard to beat, but I am a do it yourselfer, and struggled learning FI,
but I like it-I would have no problem going to a blowthru again
Funny, took a buddy for a ride in a chevelle I had, 6.0, Procharged, blowthru,
he says you cant beat FI can you-I popped the hood, funny look on his face, lol

I have been working on procharged blowthru cars for years and they work and as you put it they are simple. and the big name guys have the fuel distribution figured out.

but if I were going turbo ls there is no comparison in the amount of options you are leaving behind by not going efi.

my first efi build in my nova with a 6.0 turbo I didn't want to step into a big mess and get stuck and need someone else to tune my car. so I started of with the simplest form I could find. and ended up buying a microsquirt from efisource.com and after doing some research and looking at some of denmah's microsquirt videos. I felt confident enuff to buy one and build the harness myself. the ability to tune the fuel and timing on a grid style table in 1 minute is sweet. not to mention the launch control ,after using it for 2 years now I love it . there are a ton of more complicated and more expensive systems but being a carb guy myself I wanted it simple and now id use micro on anything I build. if you get into it do some research and learn it it is just as simple and you will wonder why you didn't go efi sooner. jmho.

I would imagine Pro Systems would be a solid choice but also a local company to me, AED, does a fantastic job with carbs.

I used to run a blow through. Car worked great but I didn't have a data logger which made it hard to trouble shoot issues. It happened to me twice and ruined track days for me. I went to a Holley unit and would never go back to carb again. Being able to data log anything and everything was worth the swap for me. Not having to pull fuel bowls off is also a plus. I didn't drive the car very much and quit honestly if you were to drive the blow through setup you would have had a hard time telling it was a carb. I built my own carb and spent hours getting it dialed in. I was going to keep the carb setup on my ls motor but I had problems with the msd box I had and ditched the idea. Buy what your comfortable with and understand the best.
