Default Turbo questions

I've been researching for weeks and still I can't narrow it down. I have a 370lsx with prc227 heads. Cam will either be a tick stage 2 or lil Jon stage 2. Intake will be a fast 102 for now since I had it from my h/c/i build. I purchased the Huron AC v2 kit and I'm looking for a turbo that will make 900rwhp+. It was going to go with the CEA Pt7675 but seems it will choke up top and I don't want a turbo to be maxed out since I'm looking to spin the motor close to 7k. Then I thought a ct43 ct 5 hybrid but again I'm not 100% sure. I know I don't want to use a BW turbo. Anyone have any recommendations?

Borg Warner S476r like stated above will probably get you there. Maybe a S480

im runnin a billet s480 t4 on the huron a/c kit with a 416, now youll be able to make a little more because you have less CI and can run more boost, but i made just over 900 on 18lbs and dont have but 2lbs or so left in it. so you should be able to make right around 1k wheel. and im auto witha 9inch. If i were you, id do my turbo, knowing i could make that power, and maybe run some spray if you want more. It almost sucks when you have a turbo that can make 1200 on your setup but thatll **** up your motor or lift a head, so for the street, if you want the fastest spool possible and 1k wheel.. a billet s480 should be the perfect turbo.

Idk why BW is out of question, but if i ran any other turbo, itd be a pt8047. that would also be a nasty turbo on your setup. if you were 5.3L id recomend a comp 78/79, the triple ball bearing is a nice option but you have a little to much motor for that in my opinion for 1k wheel
The comp 8087 is also a good turbo to look at.

I have nothing against BW, we all know their turbos are great and can make huge power. I just like being different. I hear bad things about comp turbos with excessive BP. Hopefully I won't have any BP problems with a 4" DP. I'll look into the pt8047 Kmspeedie, thanks for the info.

You could run a 4ft downpipe, wouldnt make a damn bit of difference if it's the turbine causing the restriction though.

If the turbo is sized correctly, back pressure should not be any concern.

Based on what you have said I would strongly recommend a PT88 in the T4. Order it from Jon @ Huron Speed. It will spool STRONG on your motor and it fits compactly.

I had a PT7675 on a 383 and it ran out of steam at 705 rwhp and had about 3 to 1 back pressure. I stepped up to a S476 and hope it solves my issues.

Was that with stock heads and came, or ported heads and turbo cam?

Since I can't find much information on the pt8047. How would it compare to a BW billet 80mm race cover with a 92mm turbine 1.10 T4 ?

well id run that turbo over the precision. U almost said my turbo lol, a billet s480 with a compact cover, 96mm turbine and 1.32 ar. The 1.10 and 92 turbine will be fine on your motor. And honestly, the borg warner suprised the HELL out of me. the power it produced is crazzy, its rated for 1350hp in a t6 race cover, when i have a t4 compact cover on a big *** cubic inch, and thru an automatic it stillll made 900+ to the wheels.. i mean BW is popular right now for a reason, jose at forced ind. builds a badass unit. and Liljohn is who i went through, he told me itd make 9-1k wheel, and no1 locally believed it would. So id advise to call lil john because apparently hes pretty spot on about what kind of power a certain turbo will make on your motor
