Default Fitting a C5 Procharger on an LS1 with F-Body Accessories

Is it possible to mount a C5 procharger bracket onto an LS1 with F-body FEAD? I assume I would need a spacer to push the blower out to match the f-body belt line.

Has any one done this?

There was a thread on here around a year ago where someone was mounting a ProCharger using the C5 bracket on a 4th gen. I'm not sure if the project was dropped but I don't recall seeing an end result to it. I'm thinking he used Corvette accessories. I don't see where you would find the room to mount the bracket out away from the engine block far enough to run the blower off the front of the balancer. You would be much better off converting over to Corvette accessories. Bob

Could it be done even using corvette accessories? I'd like to switch from turbo to pro charger for a nice street car but I don't like where the Fbody mounting is so I went turbo. I remember the same thread and if I remember correctly the project wasn't finished as he sold the setup and moved onto a different project

If i remember correctly, spacers were made to bring the bracket forward more for the F-Body spacing.

I have my camaro setup with a ysi vette style mount using the ecs brackets. There isnt alot of room in front of the supercharger using the vette accessories. Im sure it could be spaced forward to work with fbody accessories, but there wont be much room for a filter on it. I think the biggest problem of using the fbody accessories would be belt routing. Mine is set up with the alternator running off the 4 rib belt, so the supercharger is the only thing running off the other belt(10 rib) But there are also direct drvie setups available for vette accessories. With fbody accessories, you would need to design some sort of direct drive setup or have a mile long belt which isnt really ideal.

Viperslyr's setup is similar to mine, he is using a custom A&A bracket with the alternator in the same spot and manual steering with vette style crack pulley.

I may be confused. You bought a vette kit and installed it?

What I bought was the mounting bracket and supercharger for a vette and installed it on my 99 camaro. It was not a procharger kit, it was ecs kit for a vortech ysi, but the esentially mount the same. In order to make it work I used a vette crank pulley from innovators west and a vette a/c bracket that I mounted my alternator in. I have manual steering and electric water pump, so no other accessories

So you have to stand your radiator up straight and move it forward slightly. And you guys are using Vette accessory pulleys. Cool man! I may need to explore this.

My f1r setup uses the corvette belt line. Only thing Im running though is the water pump and alternator for accessories. Spacing it for fbody accessories shouldnt be difficult.

Mine still needs a good tune it has been on a base tune for a little while now. Had a few electrical gremlins the first couple of attempts at dynoing it and i started messing with my c5 so its been on the back burner. Ill get it finished up shortly though.

That's a great setup. If I didn't already have the Aster bracket, I'd consider this setup.

Sorry for not checking back sooner.

So vette blower brackets, vette crank pulley, vette alternator setup (I would opt for a low mount bracket to fit my swap). Can I use the F-body water pump? No big deal if not. I only have water pump and alternator. EPS steering and no AC for now.

You can use your existing water pump, but switching to a later LS2 type with a smaller bell, does free up some space for access which is always welcome.
