Default Anyone running nitrous with boosting a sbe LS???

I am in the process of building a sbe 6L, L92 heads, and S475. A buddy of mine is giving me a nitrous wet kit for free. Has anyone had success with this type of setup. This is kinda my first turbo build. I do have a sbe turbo 5.3 S10 I just completed about a week ago, but I still have bugs to work out on it so I'm a newb to the whole boost thing. And I've never ran nitrous. Any help I would gladly appreciate!

Lots of people have done it at various hp levels.

How much power do you want to make?

Only 1000rwhp. Is it doable?

1000 is definitely doable, people have made that and more on stock bottom ends
It's not going to be reliable by any means though, most builds like that you see are dyno numbers that get turned down once it's off the rollers

Nitrous also increases cylinder pressure inversely, the lower you spray the higher the cylinder pressure is

Much higher chance of knocking a ring land off or bending a rod

Ok. I know that there is not a simple answer to this post being that so many different setup variations may exist. But I guess I am looking for some ball park info to get me started. Like for instance, the kit I have is a fogger; it has a single nozzle. Does that sound like a good start. It didn't have a purge solenoid, is it necessary/better to have one.

I want to run 18-20# of boost. My setup is a stock 6L, gen 4 rods, 4L80e with triple disc converter, I plan to have a member on here build me a 8.8 housing. I'm also running a S475 borg with 4" downpipe and full exhaust.

This is not by any means a race car so please don't hold back good info. It just started as a really simple "I want to build a turbo LS car" type deal and had a buddy give me the nitrous kit so why not I guess.

Other questions are like what gears would be best, street driven everyday if I can. And I know I asked about 1000rwhp, but really I don't care about the dyno queen syndrome. I just want a super fun street car. The car is 95% assembled; just need some wastegates and a BOV. I haven't installed the NOS kit yet but I plan to this weekend. I know a lot of good info has been shared on here, so again, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Lol. Well I guess anything in that area is what I'm hoping for. And that's just me reading other S475 6L threads and guesstimating what a lil laughing gas would do with it.

s475 on a 6.0 won't need nitrous. Use a big turbo, nitrous to spool it, then shut it off.

depends on your budget. I would find a S500 or a used Precision if you really want to throw a rod out.
