My compressor housing doesn't have a barb fitting in it, and I've ran gates with diaphragms to the intake on several occasions. I've honestly never had a setup this confusing. Even TT/Dual gates were less problematic than this.

LOL if its not one thing its another. Went to check WG pressure to be sure. Hooked up the air compressor to the wastegate and vacuum block. Get under car and notice meth pump is running. Half a gallon drained into my intercooler. Have to pull off front of car to remove and dump it.

Do you have the vacuum line going to the top or bottom of the gate?

I'm assuming you had the key on and it eclipsed the pressure required to turn it on?

If not, that would mean problem lies in Hobbs switch.

Joe, I had boost issues early on with this build too. Running my WG reference to the intake didn't work for some reason, I drilled/tapped and turbo and ran r directs from there and it was a night and day difference.

Meth pump has constant 12v power, the Hobbs switch grounds it.

Using bottom port on wastegate. It opens at 11 PSI with an air compressor, but it doesn't open very far. That 2nd spring only lets it open maybe a quarter inch.

So the key was on the whole time?

Are they the correct springs for the gate ?

Valve travel really shouldnt be restricted at all until you start using pretty heavy springs.

What happens when you only have the one 6lb spring and use the boost controller?

20 lbs minimum. I only ever used the controller with the 6 lb spring.

So took out the second spring, ran it on one. 6 lbs steady. Tossed the 2nd spring in the trash with the boost controller. Grabbed the next biggest spring, threw it in with the 6 lb spring. This one has far less coils and the gate opens close to 1/2" farther with this spring. Tested with the air compressor, 15 PSI.

Took it out for a drive. 2nd pump running full time, meth kicking on at 10 PSI, wastegate is open at 12 PSI and holds it to red line.

Looks like my first problem was a junk boost controller, and I tried to solve it with a junk spring. The spring had so many coils that when it was fully compressed, the gate would only open about 1/6" past the fire ring and I wasn't able to keep the boost down.

Now she runs very steady. 12 PSI flat, 12:1 AFR and 50/50 water/meth from the biggest nozzle I had. I need to drop the AFR half a point, but for now it runs great.

The noises are coming back. Sounds almost like lifter tick, doesn't do it until the car is fully warmed up to 170*, goes away as soon as it cools off. I'm not positive that its valvetrain, as there is a very good change that the V-bands on the crossover aren't seated very well and they could use a good coating of copper RTV.

At low boost with the water/meth like that, wouldnt be overly concerned at 12.0:1 but a little richer would do no harm.
