Default bunch of turbo questions for build

im putting a l92 motor in my 87 coupe however im putting c6zo6 heads on it holley dominator 4l80e etr s484 a/w 2800lbs

for a cam im stuck between the BTR stage4 and tick stage 3 turbo cam. which would you choose and why? any real world experience with these cams?

what intake would you use? ls7 based.

what turbo manifolds? i havent really been able to find anything that may work

Call cam motion and have them split the difference between the two cams you are stuck on.

From what I can find, in two minutes of research, is the btr stgIV is 234/239 .612/.610 115+5
And the tick stg3 is 235/243 .63x/.62x 116.5+5
So, I would see what cam motion can do in the 234/242 .62x/.62x 115.5+5 range.


As for intakes... I didn't even realize that was ever a question. What else is there besides the fast lsxrt 102? Lol.

Did you sleeve the block somehow? If not how are you going to put those heads on a block with that sized bore?

Most people use the truck and 'vette manifolds reversed/modified, or eBay up and forward headers.

Again, I hope you have done research on using those heads on that block. That way you don't run into trouble later on down the road.

Yes I've done some research. They bolt right on. Either the valves clear you have to swap the exhaust valve to a slightly smaller size

Oh sweet. I did a little research right before I asked to make sure I hadn't missed anything and didn't see anything about that. That's good though, even better heads.

after a shitload of google searching i found out the info i needed for turbo manifolds.

1bdbrd. i found the info i needed off the yellowbullet and then happened to luck into a killer deal on some and pulled the trigger

That cam is too big for that engine and that turbo.

I wouldn't go bigger than our Stage 2 LS3 Turbo cam for that combo.

Can you reliably run solid lifters on your Stage-3 LS3 turbo cam?

You could, but you'd need adjustable rockers so that you can adjust lash.

If you want to go solid roller, I'd recommend a true solid roller lobe.

We have many Stage 3 cams for different applications. The LS3 Stage 3 cam was mainly designed for 4" stroke engines, as are our LS2 Stage 3 and LS1/LS6 Stage 3 Turbo camshafts designed for 4" stroke engines.

The cam has too much overlap for that set-up.
