No, I have not owned a terminator. Like I said, I'm a twists and turns sort of guy... Kind of disqualifies the mustang from being something I would consider.
I appreciate that Ford at least made the attempt to let the pony steer, and would gladly swap that irs into any '79-'04 mustang I may ever accidentally buy, but I don't now, and haven't ever, owned a terminator, or any other mustang for that matter.
I like the sn95 mustang, but dislike the new edge. I think the terminator is the only new edge worth looking at because of the aggressiveness its body kit gives it. Otherwise, the new edge is hideous, in my opinion. The heat extraction hood and front bumper are the two main factors in the terminator's aggressive appearance, that's why I said it was sad that the hood didn't fit.

Figured id update this with some winter changes
Ordered some fic 160lb injectors and a 3.08 gear
Planning on turning it up a decent amount next year
Anybody know how much power a 7675 will support on a 5.3?
Id like to trap mid 160s at +-2800 lbs

OP nice swap!
Take the steering wheel out? How does that even make any sense. He won't be able to drive it then...

First of all nice car! At your weight its a very real possibility. I've seen 900whp on some cars. I've had mine somewhere in the neighborhood of 800-850'ish I'd guess. I've just been feeding it boost and keeping timing low. 22lbs I was at 13 degrees, plugs looked good.

Here is a similar setup that i could find. He is on a 78/75, and heavier. But i dunno if you will be able to hit your 160mph trap.

Its trapped a best of 152 on 15psi running put of gear about 10 feet before the line
It dynoed right at 700 there
Im hoping itll be enough turbo to run mid 8s, if it goes 155 to get there or 165 i dont really care...lol
I dont drive it on the street very often
To and from work every now and then, or to go play around when its nice outside
It doesnt have blinkers, or power steering, or any interior, no heat/ac, exhaust comes out of the hood, 10pt cage and harnesses, etc
Not very street friendly haha

Cool, he went 9.0 with it with no cage if I remember right. He started with a theft recovery shell so everyone calm your **** that it doesn't have an IRS in it anymore. lol Looking forward to see what you do with it.

Yep
No cage, no subframe connectors, no rear firewall, etc
Its a little heavier now...lol
Our local track doesnt always have the best prep, im sure it would go 8s as it sits
Ive trapped a little faster than him, just havent gotten it to leave that hard

Ive been working on the car and buying parts for the last few weeks
Bought some fic injectors, tinkered with the tune, and turned the boost up a decent amount.
I need to change to another rear gear and im not sure what to go with.
I have a 3.08 i picked up from a friend but im thinking it might be a little much.
Im not sure how far i can go on the turbo, and the 3.08 will be good for 170+.
Im not sure if id be giving up e.t. by using the 3.08 instead of using a 3.27 that would get me right around 164.
Im also installing travel limiters up front and im not exactly sure where i need to weld the tab for the chain on the a-arm, or if it really matters as long as its symmetrical and does the intended job. Any insight would be appreciated

Congrats!
Wise to go 3.08's. You wont notice it any slower & it will help you lay down the power smoothly.
People set of limiter chains different ways. I try to keep the chain just past the mid-point closest to the tire.
You set the limiter up to how much rebound control you want. This varies with different struts/ springs & the rate of drop the front has. You really don't want to have to need them. To yank it more than is needed to hook just wastes energy anyway.

I'm not trying to say that the cobra irs is a top notch rear suspension, by any means. But it at least shows an attempt to make the mustang TURN. And, it is a legitimate short/long arm suspension, even if it is a compromise retrofit.
Cool car, though. Have fun with it. I'm just sad that it's one of the few terminator mustangs out there, and there's nothing to show for it except the front bumper. Lol.[/
It's a badass car if you don't like it keep your negative comments to your self. Car is looking good Boo.
