Im sure it would have made a little more if we tried but i didnt want to mess with the tune much just to make a number.
Air fuel is like .73 lambda, 15 degrees of timing on e85

Plenty of room to make more, but either way the turbo isnt going to move any more air. i figured id buy a 76 to stay legal in our local series and try and make a bit more power with some room to grow.

I'd be curious if running a degree or two more timing at 19lbs gave you more power then raising boost 3lbs.

Well i ended up selling the precision and buying a billet s476

Took a small amount of massaging but it fit right where the 7675 was mounted previously.
Made a "down" pipe out of some spare pieces of exhaust tubing a buddy had

Loaded up the car and headed to the tuner on friday night. It's an absolute monster up top now compared to before. Ran it up to 24psi street tuning it and couldn't go any farther. Kept spinning the tires at 6k plus rpm at the top of high gear any time we tried to go any higher.

Replaced the front struts with some strange 10 ways and coilovers to try and get the front end under control.

Went to the track last night after getting it tuned and on the first pass i blew the charge pipe off and lost the clamp

Put a hose clamp on and turned the boost way down to try and keep it from popping off again.

On the 2nd pass i left at 3500 rpm and a few psi, ramping it up to 15
On a 1.4 60 it went 6.0 @ 121 and change.

Picked up a little over 1mph in worse air on the same boost level, ramping it in slower.

Tried to make another pass and some jackass oiled down the entire track so they called it a night.

Planning on going back the 21st and trying to hit it a little harder in the 60 and ramping quite a bit more boost in.

Nice, I bet that unit picks up big when you turn it up. Has the 87/96 exh. wheel on a 1.24 T4 right?

What coupler was popping off? TB?

If so this little trick works great.

Yep
Same turbo
The butt dyno says it makes a ton more than the precision over 20lbs.

It was the coupler on the compressor housing itself
Its a vband discharge and i slipped the coupler over it
Apparently i didnt get it as tight as it needed to be

Went to a no prep race last weekend at an old shut down drag strip
Track was pretty sketchy so i kept it turned way down most of the day.
Was able to do a little suspension tuning and got it to leave pretty hard for an unprepped track.
Car was working pretty good even on low boost, won a few rounds but ended up jumping in the semi.

Had a blast racing with less power than its ever had in it, might try and do a little more no prep racing this year if the schedule allows

Havent updated here in a while
New turbo is kicking ***
Went to tulsa to race on their list and ran it out the back for the first time with the new turbo

Best mph with the precision was 151 and change on 20psi
Went 155 on the same boost level with the borg

Track was terrible by the time we got to make a pass, junk 60' and boost is ramping in auper slow to try and keep some traction

Showing promise for sure. 4 mph is a healthy power increase. Any luck on sorting the chassis out yet? What's it doing for you?

car is starting to work reaaally well
made a few more suspension tweak and it seems to have helped a bunch.
ive been racing in the stock block shootout series and ive managed to win my class the last three races.

set a new personal best of 5.73 at 122 a few weeks back. fastest pass out the back is still a 9.0.
Went to kansas international for a sbso race and tried to get it to run an 8 but it wouldnt happen. i made one pass with it turned way up but my bump box wasnt cooperating so i left without hitting the 2nd bulb, easily the fastest pass ive made in the car. next round i tried to duplicate that but got out of the groove up top and shut it down, ended up going 9.0 at 150 again...lol

Was nice to meet u... Car was working good! RX-7 had similar trap speeds with that turbo/weight. At 26lbs my 5.3 was going 159 around 3000lbs, so I'm sure it has more in it!

chipping away some et slowly but surely
went to the track tonight to test some changes. prep wasnt the best so i wasnt expecting much.

our pump e85 has gone to **** already so i decided to try some renegade race fuel leaded e85.
made a pass on the pump **** and went 5.83 at 120

drained the fuel and replaced it with the renegade stuff and added 1 degree of timing above 5600 rpm.
went 5.71 at 123

timing is pretty conservative everywhere
think 16 degrees is all it has in it from 10psi on up
im hoping i can add another degree or 2 way up top past peak torque and see some more mph gain without hurting the tired old 5.3

That things scoot'n! How much boost? Should have everything you need for some 126+mph passes with that turbo at your weight.... Think I hit 126 at 26lbs with that turbo at 3000lbs anyway. As long as you see a healthy bump in MPH like, no reason not to keep going with timing IMO.. When you stop seeing a mph or so per degree is when I stop. (usually i'm looking at a full 1/4 pass though) Some of the LS stuff I've tuned kept making power up to 21*... Current one doesn't like over 15* around 18+ lbs...

boost was 23-24 psi
probably a bit left in it before it turns into a furnace...

i think im going to start reading plugs and add a degree up top until it doesnt pick up or the plug doesnt look healthy anymore.

im running br7s with a 23 gap
think i should go to an 8 yet?

My ECU didn't like the non-resisted plugs so I didn't.

Only thing a cold plug will do is foul out...that doesn't happen with E85 anyway. I ran 9's on my daily for years. You can get the resisted NGK spark plug boots and run the cooler plugs too.
