Oil feed/return setups

Default Oil feed/return setups

Ok, so as I've mentioned, I'm learning all I can about turbo setups. I've got a SBE 5.3 I'm boosting and I'm curious how you guys have your oil feed and return lines setup. I'm also open to suggestions. Thanks for the input in advance!

For the oil lines I had someone weld a bung for the oil for drain -10an and for feed line the piece that's above filter drilled and tapped for a -4an. For the drain you can go slightly lower as long as it's above oil level in the pan

Same as above for my TT setup. -4 feeds and -10 drains. Also from what I gathered on the forum, if you're doing twins you can run a y fitting for the feed line, but the drains have to be seperate.

Same as the others with the -4 feed, but did a -12 into the front cover for my drain.

Boom. No oil smoke, no fuss.




Here's the bung tapped into the pan.





The oil cooler block off drilled and tapped. The hole is already there and the metal is thin at the bottom. The hole is already the perfect size for the tap too, GM saw this coming lol.





Here's the completed lines. I wrapped these in a DEI Heat Sleeve for extra protection.





Here you can see the lines coming around the wastegate pipe down from the turbo then straight back. Again these are wrapped in a DEI sleeve.

I agree lol. I'll be using the muscle car pan {LH8 pan} wonder if where you've got the bung in the side of your pan would work out on that LH8 pan as well?

Got this oil pan on the way. Someone give me a good ideal spot for an oil return for the turbo and recommend a good fitting.

I think GM should be sued as advertising that pan as the muscle car pan. It hung 3" below my crossmember, and one speed bump or bottom-out and I would have smacked the pan and ended up replacing my engine. Its a joke.
