I'm not saying the pump will eat itself in short order if the ethanol contacts the windings. It may take a very long time. And I'm sure some pumps are worse off than others. Or have other components that are not ethanol approved. My 4303 pumps the fuel through the motor and it's been going strong 4 years...and I bought it used. Recently sent it in just to be checked out and they said it looked great. Threw in new brushes and I'm hoping it continues to perform well for several more years.
That said, you'd need to look into mechanical pumps or something like the 4103 magnafuel for a truly compatible pump IMO.
Or would the race versions maybe be less nasty ?

Maybe that's what they've been created for ?
of sense.
The stock tank isn't going to work. It would need disassembled, cleaned, all new seals/fittings, etc. The car has been sitting in a yard for 4 years uncovered.
I already have a 10-gallon fuel cell, so an external pump seems like a no-brainer.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this pump with E85 yet. I'm not going to be running E85 all of the time, but it is getting a flex fuel setup so ethanol content will always vary.

I know my 044's struggle to keep up, so decided I'd give these a go as it's a little easier than adding a 3rd pump. If the do flow more it will be easy to see. But I wont be fitting them til over the winter, and no chance of me ever using E85.
The methanol EATS aluminum if you let it sit, so on a sprint or midget we had to go through this process of clearing the fuel injection system and backfilling it with light oil. If we even let the car sit overnight it would get alky crystals in the Mechanical injection lines and control valve. With the lube I could at least let the car sit through the weekend and have no issues. I still backed out the alcohol for when we were storing the car for more than a week, but this stuff really made it less work!. Some friends of mine running E100 cars also tried it and were pretty happy with the results.. A lot of the guys I hang with locally use it in their sprint cars and have nothing but good things to say about it.
FWIW - i'm just a happy customer, no interest in the company or product...
I'm going to check my filters and give it some more fuel and see if it can still keep up.
