Default boosting ls3 vs boosting ls7...

So plans were originally to boost my 6.2 on my gto, but I have come across a cheap ls7 short block. My plan was to put my ls3 top end (trick flow 255 heads, victor jr efi, 60601 elbow, nick williams 102) on the ls7 and run between 8-12 lbs of boost. and maybe a small meth kit later. Well plans changed again once I started reading up on cracked sleeves left and right on all the forums and saying ls7's don't handle boost very well. So the question is.. boost the ls7.. or just stick with my ls3 ?

Stick with the LS3 hands down.

12lb of boost on the ls7 wont hold long with stock pistons/sleeves, I would stay with the LS3 for 10lb or keep it around 5lb for the factory ls7 shortblock. Depends on the blower/setup too, with the heaviness of the gto 6lbs from a roots blower on a 427 may work to your advantage.

Default ERL sleeving

To add reliability you can sleeve your block. We offer a Dry sleeve system for up to 900hp to the crank. And also a Superdeck 4 bolt and 6 bolt set up for 1,000hp plus.

Don't ruin the ls7 shortblock with boost. Boost the ls3, and build a badass naturally aspirated ls7 with some mamo-fied mms235's.

Okay guys I have a tsp built ls7 in my camaro with forged aftermarket rotating assembly, I know the sleeves are the problem but do you guys think one would live around 800hp on low boost with a good tune e85 and a2w intercooler? Id juss have a hard time wanting to get rid of this motor bc I got a good deal on it. Id love to have it sleeved but I think its out of my price range right now.

not worth it to wreck a pricey Ls7. Personal opinion of course.

I have the ls7 block, freshly machined short block $5600 is what i have in it, 0 miles matter if fact it's still at the machine shop. I'm definitely going with my ls3 at this point.
