Bummer! I don't want to kill power, but I might still try it. I am just getting the car together quick to go to drag weekend at the end of march, and then I will be re-doing a lot of it. The hotside, different turbo ect. I will decide this week if I front fender dump it for now or run it back a little. I just don't want any reverb, my GTO reverbs really bad and it gives you a pretty nasty head ache on long cruises haha

Best of both worlds. Light weight, quiet, cheap, and easy.
4" DP to 4" electric cutout. Cutout exits in front of passenger wheel. 2" straight pipe kick out before the cutout. Cut sound levels 50% or so I'd say with the open 2" pipe alone. (no droning) I have since put an 1 7/8 turn down on the end of it which has quieted it down even more. I will say with pump gas it gets stinky in the cab with the 2" pipe exit directly under the car. I run E85 usually and it’s not bad at all then.

That's a Badass idea forced! I will have to do something similar to that. Thanks for the pics man
Thats rare96lt1formula **** got here fast and eas completely unopened! Badass
2" v-bands. 3 of em from squeeze
No jesse james, but that ***** stuck together haha I beveled the ends a little, tacked in 4 spots then ran short beads and checked for warping as I went, non occured. 110 lincoln
I smoothed em up a bit, tapped the egr holes and put a countersunk plug in ther then welded em up.

Now you're getting somewhere!
I just welded v-bands on my manifolds last week. Just picked up 100lbs of blasting powder so that will be happening tomorrow... You are probably going to zip right ahead of me as it is much colder here than in AZ so my garage is freezing right now...

Pretty amazing GM made all those turbo cut to fit manifolds for us, lol
I got all my engine parts, trans parts back yesterday, and 2 feet of snow coming-but the fuel oil tank in the garage is full, so bring it, lol
I had swapped out my BRP mounts for some Dirty Dingo ones, did a trial fit and my oil pan laid on the drag link-so back to my old mounts-would have liked to test fit the Holley pan, but $330 wont happen now-I cut my Hot Rod pan on each side for tie rod clearance, hope it doesn't warp welding in a filler section

Santa must be ****-housed drunk, he keeps bringing me presents!
Intercooler got a little damaged, looks like the shipping company was having a blast throwing it around! Haha whatever 75$ shipped.
Gotta tig this ish up though
Uh ohhhh
What?... is fresca not manly? It's diet okay?!
Hey the cover almost fits!
Haha he was conned into this, did not like the turbo, guess he wanted the car to be all motor
So as you can see I went with a gt45 after all. I weighed options, and when it came down to it right this minute the goal is to have the car make drag weekend and learn some stuff. Getting a turbo for 190$ shipped to my door definitely helped the reality of the situation haha I will be swapping it in the near future but I'm also excited to see what this budget beater can do. There are a few people that need to have a beatdown from the buick!! Haha I also didn't realize how much **** I have got done in like 3 weeks, holy crap!

Just toss another gt45 on down the road! Thats the exact intercooler I used. Stick a $2 peak/hold tire pressure gauge before the IC for us and check out the pressure drop across the core. Pretty sure it's horrible, but it cooled my air charge just fine, can't go wrong for $75 IMO. (went 8's in the 1/4 on my turd) U should point that IC damage out to the company that shipped it, they may give U another free.

Right? haha I have def thought about it, you think the 5.3 could spool em up alright? I figured the same as you, how can I lose at 75$ shipped. I let the guy know that the shipping company sucked we shall see if anything happens. In the mean time tomorrow I'm going to tig it up and press on. If you went 8s I should be way fine! haha
I connected to the ECU tonight with my $20 dollar acer laptop from a buddy. I had to buy a battery that was $22.50, and the thing works great. It is a little slow but hey I'll take it. It was pretty awesome getting the TPS sensor calibrated and seeing the coolant temp sensor working and such. I will be grinding hard tomorrow and sunday, I can see the light!

You may actually get another IC out of the deal. I got another free radiator from a place I ordered one from on ebay. Put it on the car and it was fine for a short while, next thing you know it has a pin hole leak in one of the cooling fins. Sent them pics of my pressure checking it and they sent out another free of charge.
Loving the build though. Good luck with it.

OoOoO I'm fancy
I really like how this came out, all rubber mounted with a piece of heater hose inbetween the pump and the frame
The clanps are just 2" plumbing clamps i flattened one side on a vice
Wilding away, slowed down some this week because my 2001 Tahoe daily **** the 4l60e after 205,000 miles. (I'll take it) so I went and picked up this beauty for $300 for a daily and future project. It runs great and everything works!! Couldn't be happier

Hot side commence.. using all the factory 2" exhaust from 1972 haha
Not exactly where I wanted it BUT it is a budget build. So I compromised. Its growing on me though
Not bad for a day! Did it all with a HF grinder and a linc 110.. considering that I think it came out pretty good! Haha mighta fucked myself on intercooler piping we shall see
Fender was rotted out bad anyway, just cut some out to make room lol
Ill stick the gate there, 44mm vs racing one
