You'd want the gate on the opposite side of the "t" merge for best placement... Dunno if thats an option, but it will give you the best control.

Air filter placement looks like it could be a challenge!

Yeah I am just going down **** it Ave for now. I appreciate the input I wouldn't have known that. I am going to run one of those green circle air filters, or a screen. The gt45 is only going on for major temporary purposes. How's that rx doin??

I gotcha... In the tire well is just a super bad location though. It will kick road dirt straight into the inlet, screen or not. Those flat foam filters are total crap. I couldn't make over 3-4lbs with one on. Pulled it off and hit 12lbs. Might be able to get creative with some HVAC piping or a cobra head inlet?

I like the 4"-5" alum dryer duct but you might not have room for it. You can do some pretty crazy stuff with inlet piping at the HVAC section at homedepot! Just gotta get creative. All the segments pop out and you can add to them as needed. Fiberglass it when your done. Super tight bend radius, It's crazy strong, and light weight! I could stand on this one when I was done.

Rx7 is good to go, waiting on the weather...

Yeah!! Almost running. Going to crank out tomorrow see what I can get done. This week should yield a lot of progress and I'll post more pics and maybe a video or two. I got a manual steering box I'm swapping in, and I have some more tubing so I am going to try and move the turbo a bit. The placement just isn't decent enough lol it was a long day I just wanted to bolt it on, so tomorrow I will fix that quick.

Before i re-clocked the turbo

Much bettah

Re-clocked

Wastegate might not be in the perfect spot, but im pretty pumped about the fab work I did to get it there, and of course I took no pictures of that process haha. I cut a hole with a hole saw, then notched a piece of tubing to fit nice. Then I welded the v band to it, and welded it on finally. Whoop whoop! Now its going to fall off hahahha.
I fired up the fuel pump, fixed a couple leaks and still have to fix an injector that is seeping slightly. I might awap the 5/16 hardline return with 3/8 push-lok tomorrow one of the fittings was seeping. I almost fired it, but forgot I didn't have plug wires! Hahaha ****. But the sending unit works, I cranked it to turn it over, that worked and I will fire it tomorrow

Much better location! can easily use the HVAC method intake method now. Could even use the headlight as an air inlet.

Right?? I was thinking headlight intake also.. we shall see! I will be getting it running today after work, hopefully it will go well, then I will continue to tie things up. There is a tru-boost on Craigslist new, thinking about picking it up. Might just roll with a manual style at first, because I'm a tight ***

If your using micro squirt, is has 1 PWM output. You can use that for boost control.

Well I got it fired up last night, sorry no video my phone took a **** about an hour before I got it running!! ****. BUT it ran well no visible leaks and it didin't explode yet. I am going to fire it again today and see if the turbo seems to be draining okay. It had an initial buildup of oil, seems like what they assembled it with maybe? Anywho, next step is probably clean up wiring first and foremost, then press on to radiator, intercooler piping, belt, batt relocation... blah blah BURNOUTSSS. I am going to run the micro for a while, but I am 100% going to get a gold box in the near future

quite a bit of tuning to do, but hey it runs. I will be relocating the drain to the timing cover tomorrow due to the smoke-tastic screen of whiteness coming out the turbine housing. Then I will be mounting the front accessories and so on. Depending on how I route my intercooler piping I may be able to run the battery in the front of the car which will be less of a pain in the *** and save me some much needed tech grief. I will still eventually relocate it even if I stick it in the front of the car at first. All in all pretty pumped, lots of work to still do but drag weekend is definitely a possibility!

If you have a vac line make sure your not sucking oil out into the engine causing smoke
I was able to fit a return just under my balancer, seemed to work good
Today is startup for my new engine, hopefully the tune is pretty close to make it work, just a bump in comp.
