Scored a Gen4 bottom end short block from a buddy. He found it for a steal and passed it on to me. It lost a main bearing (#1) so plan is to slam another crank I have in there, re-bearing it and all that jazz. I also will probably pick up a cam for it and put it together for the buick. Getting this motor was perfect because now I can pop out my current motor and use it for my 1983 Fairmont build along with the 76/68. So life is good. This motor will be in the future, maybe 3 months or so. Want to do some other stuff with the current motor.

As for the car currently, I went ahead and checked timing and it was off 7*. I went into tuner studio, commanded 0* and checked with a light after finding TDC. After I re-calibrated it, the car seems to be a lot snappier and have picked up some power for sure. I had it out last night on waste-gate with the girlfriend and she said it felt faster. If they hold another event here soon I will take it back out as it sits just out of curiosity to see if I can get a better number out of it, either trap or ET.

Hell yeah, I love your 2 door man so sick. Did you do a build thread for that? I picked up some Cobra R wheels for it, to really sell the "I swapped a 5.0 into it" theme I might go for.

76/68 from vs racing. Viren is a real awesome guy to deal with. I could tell he was busy but he made sure to e-mail me back quickly and he also talked to me on the phone with great customer service. Will definitely go back to him. I will pull the gt45 off tomorrow and take a peek at it and throw this guy on. Hopefully be rolling into some boost tomorrow

Are they turbo ls cars? I have a line on a 8.8 and 3.27s for the car also.. so once I upgrade this hoe the fairmont will get a lot of attention.
As for the Buick right now I am trying to dial in the AFR's during mid-range and cruise. At idle it's **** rich but it idles fairly well for a micro on 91 as far as what I have read. During cruise and idle it's rich as **** but a lot of the cells are already around 25 and any lower and the injectors start to lose resolution. Same thing basically happens at idle if you try to lean it out any more. I am aware of being able to play with required fuel to adjust overall fueling. Would this be the proper option to try and alleviate this issue? Any tips on tuning this ish would be awesome. Also getting a bit of run on after shut-down, but I would assume that could be a wiring issue, also my ign switch is ****. I have to hit the column here and again to get it to start, had this same issue with my GTO until it literally did not start haha

I wouldn't be worried about the a/f at idle, as long as it idles well. What you want to do is play around with the idle cells until you're pulling the most vacuum you can. What fuel pressure are you running? It could be a wiring issue if it's back feeding power to the ignition somehow.

I have never checked pressure. Yeah it is pulling like 18 for vacuum which I'm cool with. It surges a little esp if it is idling for a long period, but I can handle that for now haha Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking. I will have to go through my wiring... it is basically as nice at the bodywork on the car. I didn't want her to feel spoiled or anything ya know?

18" is pretty good. Mine would surge like that sometimes too. I know on the Holley if it's close to several cells at a time and they're off by quite a bit, the Holley will average the cells and put it in a "swing." Just watch what cells it's idling in (timing and fuel) and try to make it as smooth as possible. Denmah has an idle tuning video that might be helpful:

So I went to PA and attended a MS workshop hosted by Matt Happel "Denmah" on here. It was super awesome, and I played with my car a bunch tonight right after getting back and it was awesome. Running really good and idles greaat!
I bought a gold box for the car and will be installing it eventually.
I put one competition engineering shock on the back right cause I broke a shock and wrecked a tire doing a big *** burnout. The car flat out hooks with one 49$ shock! hahahah it is awesome.

Haha well I went to it and I'm in Tucson, AZ.... It was pretty awesome. Class was only $300 bucks and EFI source was even there! Super awesome experience. It would be well worth the visit. You can basically ask anything you want, no set structure so if you are more advanced that's okay too. They have more coming up, forced so if you are interested shoot me a PM and I'll let you know how to find it. Same goes for anyone curious!
