I'm starting to appreciate the scope creep of your project, I might getting an entirely new 9" for my car.

Ha! First world problems. I’ve already ordered parts for the suspension upgrades necessary. Since I’ll need a cage, I might as well upgrade the turbo too. 🤪

Indeed. So do you have an ET goal for the car?

I’d like to see it in the 8s some day. But I’ll need a much better 60’ than 1.41 which is the quickest it has been to the 60’ to date.

Got her to go 1.40 60’ with the Caltracs in the lower hole. Launch felt lazy where it used to feel violent in the top hole. I still need to slow down the front end and probably limit the travel a bit more. She sure likes the rpm at launch, 11psi and 4600 rpm. I think she’ll take 14 psi and 4800 rpm.

Got the dog dish caps mounted on the draglites with adapters which really completes the look.

Entered a little 1/8 mile street car shootout. Went 3 rounds in an hour and won it. Closest race below. Had the car leaving soft making sure I didn’t spin. It was a great time.

Sweet Pea drew quite a crowd after the race.

It is seriously the most fun car I’ve ever owned, and it doesn’t even have a radio. That’s the first event where I’ve bumped in the beams for a real pro tree race. I need a little more practice lol. The best part was driving Sweet Pea home with my son and the AC on after the race.

Went to a “street car” shootout at Holly Springs 1/8 mile track. I won the first round on a hole shot against an S10 that didn’t even have an alternator.

I was put out in the second round by a lightweight mustang also with no alternator.

The event was won by a mustang with full fiberglass front clip and no headlights “street car” lol.
I did drive sweet pea to work in the morning with the AC blowing cold. I’m pretty sure nobody else at the “street car” shootout can say that.

Just read through your whole build lol, great work! Love the car! What a/c system are you using? I'd like to add some a/c to my gbody. I was thinking of trying a Vintage Air system but I don't think I can fit the compressor anywhere.

I know exactly where you're coming from. The rules in these "streetcar" classes get to me sometimes lol

right? How about “turn your headlights on, blow the horn, hit the brake lights.” You can’t do it, you don’t qualify for the class.

They had N/T on the window, that's why the times didn't show on the score board.

2 cars. I was giving the guy a pretty hard time for no alternator and a lot of fiberglass in the staging lanes. His car runs well, it was the first time he had it out since building the motor.
