The hot weather really kills these things, I go from 7.5psi on 90 degree days to 8.5 when its 60 degrees at night and the car feels a million times better.

No other changes, same track, same air/fuel ratio: 10.96 @ 124 50 degrees, 11.20 @ 121.5 72 degees. Big difference, you really can notice it..

I want to put a 236/240 cam in it, 600ish for lift, 114 lsa most likely, I figure thats good for at least 40rwhp with the motor setup, my curren't 214/218 .540/.550 is great and all, it idles like a stock LS1, but its not there for the power, closer look at the dyno sheets showed peak power around 5900......
No way your being limited right now with your current cam IMO.
No problem at all making 600+rwhp with a stock ls1 cam let alone your cam.
Rob Raymer dynoed well over 700RWHP with a stock ls1 cam and a stock ls1 intake.

I guarantee you will pick up at LEAST 40RWHP With that change.
Not unless he also spins the blower faster either by a pulley change or by revving the motor higher to get the blower to spin faster. Might pick up some power here and there but the blowers output is the ultimate power dictator. Keep the blower speed about the same and power is going to be around the same.

Instead of looking at only the ls1 scene, you guys should look around, maybe talk to some of the competition. I have seen 5.0's make over 600RWHP with stock cams. Know how small a stock 5.0 cam is? .444" lift ~ 200' duration!

Work on getting the boost and the tuning. More boost and a better tune should net a good 150RWHP from your current level.
But like you said it's not a dyno queen. See what it runs before you go and make all these changes.

I would take it to the track, try different shift points, and bring home a 10 second pass.

I'd still like to know what your max timing was at peak hp, can't you get that from Izzo or Intmd8?
