Default Who makes a good cutout that lasts?

I know there's plenty of cutout brands out there and I just had a quick time performance one and the butterfly bent. And it's only been a few weeks! So wanting to find one that will last

Well the reason I ask is cause I've read where high hp turbo engines bend the butterfly which what happened to me. Not calling qtp junk it could just been a flaw

If a boost activated cutout will work, check out the Sound Performance unit. I know it's expensive but it's a very robust unit that is made and assembled just outside of Chicago. It's obviously designed for forced induction.

I also use a QTP cutout. Have had it around 5 years. No signs of damage using it with my procharger. Though I'm not at 1200hp. But I also use it all the time!

I use this guy. Great to work with and will stand behind his product. Had one of my 4" cutouts bend due to a back fire. He custom made me a unit with a thicker butterfly free of charge. I've since run 3-4 of his units and currently run a 4" of his on my LS setup. Had one motor fail after a few years on my daily, and he sells replacements.

This is my whole exh system. Since added a 1 7/8 turn down to the 2" "kick out" on the side. Very quiet with dump closed... no muffler required.

I'm with ForceFed on this one. I used one of his cutouts on my previous turbo setup and it worked flawlessly. The guy is local to me as well and is extremely nice. If something ever happens to the cutout he will take care of it as well.

I chose a Badlanz as well. Guy seems legit. I told him mine was right off the turbine housing and was concerned with it failing from high temps under the hood...he said it will be fine if all the plumbing is heat wrapped and said to prove him wrong. It has a 5 year warranty as well. He was texting back and forth with me at like 9PM. Good customer service.

Ive had one Badlandz 3" for about 4 years and I got a 4" last year for my turbo car. I broke it twice my own fault for using another brand turn down that was too small causing the blade to stick when opened. They fixed them for me both time no questions asked

I had that exact same thing happen to mine but I just bent it back. Might have to contact him for a thicker butterfly.

OP, whatever you do stay away from DMH. They used to have a very good reputation but now seem to be ripping people off. My DMH cutout lasted about 3 weeks before going out and they no longer are answering phones for warranty service.

Badlanz on mine too and never had a problem. If I am ever looking for another I'll be getting it from him.

Badlanz on mine also. I open and close it alot when crusing the town due to cops listening carefully where I live. I even ran over a large boulder that fell off a dump truck and it bent the cutout itself so that the butterfly wouldnt open. I just hammered the sucker back out and it works great again. Id buy another in a heart beat if this one went out.
