Default Whats better two vented catch cans or two blow off valves

My brother just built a budget turbocharged 4.8 for his 2002 camaro z28 about a month and half ago he spent saved up and spent about $4000-$4500, car made 550+hp and i believe 460-480in torque not bad for a on 3 turbo kit he changed out the turbo it came with and put a 72mm i believe, the car still has aircon and heater and is a daily driver up until it blew the rear main seal..common ive read if not vented right, ok so here is the question. So he doesnt have to switch a rear main seal any more or anytime soon whats better, keep in mind this a budget build my brother doesn't have deep pockets, going with one more vented catch can or another blow off valve? One more thing the car had a build 4l60e but re-did it and a build 10bolt before this build happened he blew the original ls1 that only had 52,000 original miles car was built before by a lawer.

I don't see how those two have anything to do with each other. They vent air from 2 completely separate sources.

What would work better in this case? He's planning on getting another vented catch can but is not sure the motor builds alot of excess blowby but cant escape fast enough when it doesnt need it so it blew the rear main seal, we've done our research but its not always good information if you know more on what could keep the motor from blowing the rear main seal please inform me im all open ears man any help is well appreciated

Blow off valve releases pressure from the intake tract when the throttle is slammed shut, to prevent turbo surge.

Has nothing to do with crank case pressure

I would run a minimum of -10 lines or equal from each breather to the catch can. Another option to pull vaccum is the moroso (or summit racing is cheaper) exhaust evacuation. There is always the option of a vac pump.

sounds like you have a sealed pcv system or close to it under boost. do yourself a favor and learn hown the system works, then check out mighty mouse catch cans. the comments on here are truely priceless haha. oh and like 20psi said, make sure the lines going to the catch can are big enough to able to flow properly under high boost

there is a hose going to the top of your throttle body, unhook it from there and secure a cap on the throttle body barb.

extend this hose down to your turbo's air filter and connect somewhere at the filter or the tubing leading to the turbo inlet.

Guys, I know it's hard not to giggle or question the validity of this thread, but just keep in mind, we all started somewhere. Could the OP tried to do a bit more research? Sure. I'm sure just the excitement of the topic at hand is what created this thread, and that's okay! It's what makes the world go 'round!

This is a great thread with tons of details on routing a catch can properly.
